I can remember a time when storylines had beginnings, middles and endings and made sense.

It is a soap opera so that's just part of it. PYC storylines go on for 2 years sometimes I think you can lose the plot.

It appears to me that now most people in the village are not aware that Macs was raped, by how they act. If at one time they were supposed to know it changed.

No I don't think most of the village does. Something appeared in paper but I think it was only that Macs received a suspended sentence for ABH. It the only explanation for why no one has ever reacted to it. Why people continuously talk about Izzy as if that crime is much much worse than what happened to Macs. Why Macs refused to tell Jinx and Ffion that he was ill. As he said he didn't want anyone to know how he got Hep B.

Actually that makes sense I never did understand why the paper would name him as a rape victim.. papers don't normally reveal the names of rape victims.
Only if they waive anonymity, otherwise it's illegal.

Sorry but what kind of logic is that? Storylines in a soap have to make sense, if not then they're not very good. I do enjoy PYC but let's face it, the continuity stinks.

Very strange episode last night. I like the comedy in PYC but last night it was too much. And I don't feel any sympathy for Eileen, given that she has NO facial expressions at all.

Thank you for that. I did not know that reporting the names of rape victims in the paper is actually illegal and not just against public policy. That question is answered then, Macs name did not appear in the paper as rape victim. Most of the village does not know. PYC continuity issues aside that makes perfect sense given how everything in that storyline played out.

I think PYC has a lot of continuity issues. But actually I am at this moment a bit confused on some of the storylines. I can't tell did they just drop the rape storylines... or did the put them off to make some kind of larger point later on?

It was and it wasn't strange... I didn't have much sympathy for Eileen either. Mostly because she was a bit over the top. Sioned has a point... which I don't think Eileen really understood.

Sioned still has the supply teacher agency? I thought she gave that up to take care of Ed?

I have a question about tomorrow's episode: have Iolo and Sheryl ever had a scene together or ever been friends? Am I right in thinking his concern about her is new.

I have to agree. I also think the show could do with a new family, and get rid of the deadwood - namely Kevin, Debbie, Ed, Gemma and Mark. They add nothing whatsoever to the show, and in some cases, detract from it!
totally agree especially mark & debbie are ruing it for me now

They could get rid of Gemma never seen the point of her, also Sheryl else they bring back her mother or give her a new assistant.

Wednesdays episode was rather bland. Hwyel making bread, Debbie not pleased Mark is selling jewelry for Gemma. Gaynor not keen on going back to work.
Jeez I was nearly falling asleep.

There are a lot of small filler storylines right now. Its dragging all the storylines down.

I am interested to see if tonight's episode is as strange as the xmas special. It has been filmed on location and the scenery looks beautiful. There's a pic on twitter.

Do you think we are supposed to like Sheryl? The way she is written no one could like her.

Hiya sderr
I used to like Sheryl when she was with Kevin. But when she walked away from him when Kevin was still recovering from a stroke - that`s when the dislike of her started.

I think I should feel bad for a woman who was raped. But even a few days afterward trying to bury Kevin alive... that's bad. And running off with Moc. I felt bad for her losing Wil but Darien was completely right. Darien didn't even hear the worst of it. I am not sure how with a straight face she was able to say she had no idea about Moc.

Completely agree. She's not even very affable, she's just an odd character. I mean what is she doing dating an unattractive man twice her age for a start!

Yes, it's not exactly riveting at the moment...

Gemma at one point was supposed to have some big traumatic past the writers dragged that out for a year and it turned out to be that she accidently killed her mother. As big as they made it seem it was a let down and then no real decent storyline since.

Seems to me any time they have a bigger storyline in the works they do a lot of these small little stories before hand. I wonder what the next thing is..

Iolo's on today... some big thing over Kevin and Sheryl. I wonder will we get clues. I keep thinking Iolo has stashed Macs in some asylum somewhere and hasn't told anyone.

Another thing....Declan was claiming poverty, and said he didn`t have a pot to pee in. Yet he could afford to pay the alarm/CCTV company, the insurance premiums, the cell phone bill, and had money to buy booze at home and at the Woolpack.
And the insurance company will surely want to know why Home Farm didn`t have any smoke detectors or smoke alarms that goes directly to the alarm company.
Sloppy writing Emmerdale - I`m disappointed.
