Gethin would definitely order that if someone else was paying!
With gravy and mushy peas to go with it

That wouldn't be bad actually.

Boring week so far! Why Dani sudden change towards Gethin?
I'm not liking it either. It's slow and lifeless, and the writing isn't great either, although it has some nice touches here and there. Just not enough of them.

Maybe I am in the minority but I am liking this week.

I like seeing some of the old things about the characters come up again. Dani really has never wanted kids, Gethin and Dani were always very close until that really bad blackmail plot. Garry is very controlling and damaged by his past, Sion and Britt haven't magically healed their marriage.

I liked the scene where Gethin and Sion were talking about his son, talking about what kind of father abandons his son over Xmas and New Years.

I feel like they are laying the ground work for things coming down the road a bit. Some of the storylines that were more plot driven did have people act out of character and now they are pulling back a bit.

I don't think so... she told Macs she didn't love him. Maybe its just the impression I got but I figured Cadno was playing along with Macs delusion because she didn't have the money to pay rent.

Why would Iolo think that's Ok. Macs should be in hospital and then in some kind of intensive therapy shouldn't he? Are they going to pretend that isn't the case?
No I don't think he'd be in hospital, therapy yes but not hospital and if everyone knows about the rape it is odd, but I got the impression they didn't probably a writing error or they'll come back to it. May have been kevin didn't pick up on it or was too shocked at the tirade to comment. I mean not everyone knows the truth about Sheryl yet and that was made public so I doubt anyone knows, unless Kevin was at the trial, which I didn't think he did. I did wonder how come if it came out at the trial more people didn't know. The writing on this show can be very shoddy. As if Sion would just abandon Macs, and he would definitely know about Christmas because the police were involved which would be how Iolo knew and I'm guessing he spent Christmas with his family.

But they mentioned Cadno quite extensively last Friday, even though we know that the actress playing her is not coming back because of maternity leave.

I'm sorry but the Whites act like they walked right from the set of the Twilight zone. This is not believable, either that the White don't care or that everybody and I mean every single person without exception believe what Macs did to Sioned was the worst possible thing to happen in that village. Worse than Moc or Gwyneth almost.

However, I have seen this before with Gethin. They had writing for Gethin where Gethin was acting very strange yelling at Sheryl constantly about Dani. The writers had the viewers convinced that Gethin was screaming about Dani to hide the fact he had a wife. Although this made no sense. It went on for 6 months at the end of 6 months I was convinced they were the most stupid shoddy writers around. Then they dropped the bomb shell about Moc and sexual abuse.

Its now just too weird... no one has attitudes like the Whites have. Just like no one actually yells and screams about their sister to hide a marriage. Its on purpose this bad writing because literally it would take a few lines of dialogue to explain where Macs is. How much effort is that? Not very much, why wouldn't you do that?

Speaking of which does anyone care about Sion and Brits marital problems? I could care less that two selfish middle aged adults can't get along or forgive one another for their faults. Either decide to work it out or move on.

Also why does Iolo care about this so much... all he does is babysit and comfort Sion. Why? Sion is 50 year old adult and the communication problems he has with his wife are his problems. If Sion needs counseling maybe he should seek professional help not bother Iolo.

I hated the way Britt spoke to her son Chester yesterday. She seemed mad because he was sick on his Birthday, and acted like it was his fault that he spoilt the party.

Sion was just as bad doing his translation work during the party. I have no idea what's wrong with the both of them. I can't see why anyone should care or think they are particularly good people. They certainly don't act like good people.

People continue to ask for Sion and Brit's advice on there families and relationships . As if anyone would actually want it. The Whites: Lost family members forever, convicted of perverting the course of justice, constant petty squabbling, smug sanctimonious first class hypocrites.

Future Spoilers
Spoiler

The Sioned and Eileen situation is another one that simply does not have to exist. Sioned's attitude is less than stellar, but what was wrong with allowing her to be angry if she wants to be. As long as she was not going interfere in Eileen's business or relationships Sioned can feel however she wants. If Eileen left it alone Sioned would have grown tired of it eventually.

Thanks for those. In my opinion, PYC really needs some new main storylines. For the forseeable it's just Eileen/Sioned/Angela/Jim, Garry/Dani/the Whites and Gaynor/the school. The Gethin one sounds interesting but there is no mention of it in the spoilers after this week.

I agree there are so many unresolved storylines that are more interesting. I know some viewers wanted more realistic less violent storylines. The current ones are certainly that. Its extremely realistic that people have conflict over different values, emotions and life experiences. However, its very uninspiring to watch adults unable to deal with ordinary life.

Very anti-climatic today. All of Sion and Brit's problems for the last several months were caused by menopause?

I don't think I believe Sion being so soft on Chester allowing him skip out on school etc, when he is so judgmental with his adult sons.

Seriously are there new writers who have decided to write a completely different soap than PYC.

I know that PYC has a new structure... but have they decided to dump all the past storylines.

It's all true. The continuity on PYC is atrocious.

Well Citadel I know that PYC got a new structure in Nov and I know people have complained about the violence and wanted changes. However when people said that I think what they meant is they wanted to see storyline resolved and criminals to get their comeuppance. Not that viewers wanted a soap of uniformly bland "nice" people concerned only about mundane issues like baking bread and going to the dentist.

Perhaps it needs a new boss? As far as I know it's had the same boss since 2008/9.

I don't know, but clearly there is a happy medium between three unresolved rape storyline where the perpetrator was not punished and storylines about baking bread. You would not think that is a difficult concept to understand.

The writers and producer had better up their game for their 40th in October - or viewers will be switching off in droves.
What this week has taught me..... seeing an old photograph of Brandon so happy next to Britt and Garry makes me miss Brandon all the more. It should have been Britt that died instead. I know that sounds callous, but the two brothers are way more interesting in storylines.
