True but in my mind there is a difference between being nasty and rude and committing crimes. Eifion committed crimes for me it makes a big difference.

Not denying that, but Eifion started Christmas week by fighting with Ed over steroids and putting Hwyel in hospital and became a hero during the Christmas episode because Macs came back and took the babies. Less than a week between nearly going to jail for almost killing a man to hero. Angela's transformation took months. So I stand by what I said about Eifion being redeemed too quickly.

I can't help thinking Rhys is having some issues with his sexuality, I know someone said previously they thought he may be Gay and now with recent spoilers I'm thinking he may be and is having issues with it.

Yeah except I don't know what they can do with that story. I can't see Rhys being rejected by his family, and there is really no one his own age on the show. I mean they could make him Iolo's boyfriend I guess. If you don't throw some kind of twist I am not sure how that would be interesting. This all comes back to not playing the younger characters. Would Rhys just spend a lot of time with Colin and Sion like Iolo? I can't see that being believable for a 19 year old.

If he is gay I think he'll come out to his family, but end up going back to university and it will be a short storyline. There just isn't anything for that character to do as a regular that I can see.

I think if Rhys is gay it will be internal homophobia, I don't think he himself will be able to cope and I wouldn't be surprised if he starts a fling with Iolo The whole Iolo/Rhys thing could be interesting as that's a bit of an age gap and the whole Rhys hating himself and being gay which is what it sounds like it's hinting at.

If that is where they are going. I think it will be the same issue there was with Gemma. She had that one storyline with her mother's death and then they had nothing for her to do. I am not sure how the self hating thing works with no one to play that off of. If you are self hating and depressed with out any external discrimination there's a name for that its called depression.

Internalised homophobia doesn't need someone to play off, Rhys has been seen as a ladies man and is proud of his reputation and we know he's all about image, in his eyes he may have an issue with being Gay. It would be interesting to see.

I really dislike coming out storylines that conflate depression and a person's sexuality. If you are going to write a storyline about homosexuality and depression, I think you should be connecting that to the disapproval of homosexuality in society. I think it is fine to raise this issue, and I would be ok with it if they did an equal number of stories about straight teens being depressed, but they don't. You would think from television that the overwhelming number depressed teens are struggling with their sexuality. That's just not true. They make too direct a connection between homosexuality and depression.

Yeah that's true. I suppose that Iolo could be avoiding her because he hasn't admitted the truth about the hit and run that nearly killed her brother.

I was so confused with yesterdays PYC. The conversation between Iolo and Rhys seemed so random, and came out of nowhere. When they were talking about telling Hywel about Rhys quitting college, Rhys mentioned about Sion.
So was Rhys talking about Iolo telling Sion he was gay, or was Rhys admitting he was gay himself?

I think Rhys was talking about Iolo telling Sion he (Iolo) was gay. I think the point was that Sion would be more accepting of Iolo being gay than Hwyel would be of Rhys dropping out of university and not completing those essays.

Last night's episode was confusing the conversations between Rhys his friend and Iolo seem to be mostly about the essays. I wonder does Rhys have a learning disability? Is that why he isn't completing the essays. He might be worried about admitting that Hwyel and Gaynor because they were both teachers and have high academic expectations.

Thanks sderr. I was sure that was the case - especially when they made so much of Rhys sleeping with his friends girlfriend in that episode. I still had to go back and watch it again just to make sure. I even checked the site to see if there was a double episode I missed. And then I thought to myself.... "na Citadel would have mentioned it if there were 2 Wednesday episodes"

Have to agree about Rhys, the whole thing was very confusing. This is what happens when characters are off screen for months on end. It's just not good enough.

I think I maybe just got caught up in speculating about Rhys. As you say he hasn't been on screen since Christmas. I watched it again, I think the storyline is about academics. Hwyel seems to be applying pressure for Rhys to do well and if I remember correctly the only exam Rhys got an A on was PE otherwise the rest of his marks were pretty bad. The anger at Iolo could just be because Iolo has some of Sion's judgmental self-righteous streak in him, and would judge Rhys for dropping out of university nothing to do with anyone's sexuality.

I know, Eifion is a horrible cheating stalker. But I think its supposed to be funny and not serious.

I can`t help but think that Cadno is an (Easter) bunny getting ready to boil. She`s been a moaning minnie for years (although she did have cause once with Eifion cheating). And now because Eifion is with Angela, Cadno has become all agreeable and 'nice'. I`m surprised she admitted that she changed the price of the glamping tent.
Anti Marion doesn`t suffer fools gladly, she can see right through Cadno.
