Sion infantilizes Iolo doesn't he? I thought that for a couple of years now. He treats his son as an extension of himself rather than as his own person. Iolo is such a people pleaser that he goes along with it. What a messed up family dynamic.

I don't mind Garry and Dani.

Jinx and Ffion were really ruined by sloppy writing. Its just so painfully obvious when they stuck Macs in the middle of that storyline that no one checked Rhys Bidder's contract. No one is going to convince me it was planed to play out the way it did.

When they made Ffion and Jinx first cousins obviously they were planning to bring in their parents, but now they have no money. It annoys me to no end that they don't attempt to fix these problems in this storyline that just look like mistakes. I loved that storyline when it started, now I can't be bothered with it.

I think Sion has always favored and coddled Iolo because he thinks Iolo needs the most protection because he's gay, which is why he smothers him, while he has always been so judgemental with the rest of his kids, especially Macs.

Show has made it clear that something happened to Iolo when he was a kid and that is what is triggering his OCD. It doesn't seem like he knows or remembers what happened. Judging by Friday's show when Sion said that Iolo used to go down by the river alone where no one could see what was going on something happened there. I wonder if Iolo, perhaps being attracted to men, even if he didn't understand what it was or what it meant, was meeting someone there who raped or assaulted him and he blocked out the incident.

True, Iolo is the most like Sion though. I think he is his favorite child, a thing Sion makes very clear. I don't think Sion gets that this behavior is abusive, which it is.

Was that the same place Macs went in the Christmas episode? Macs said something very similar to what Sion said about a place everyone went for family picnics..

Seriously? That's such a stupid move. Half PYC's audience watches the omnibus.

I don't know how many people they'll recruit to online viewing after they cut the omnibus. They are promoting watching on iplayer. Long time online viewers know that you should always use clic over iplayer, the subtitles on iplayer are terrible.

You could watch online.
I think the OCD storyline is very well done and very accurate, speaking as a person with an anxiety disorder. Not OCD, but a related anxiety disorder. I think Iolo's behavior is textbook typical.

I think Iolo has been great these past few weeks....very believable. But that`s just me.
For the longest time I thought his anxiety and OCD was due to the hit and run incident a while back. But lately I`m thinking it goes further back than that - even before he came out. Possibly linked to his Mother Gwen`s death? Maybe he blames himself? Although as I recall his Mother died of cancer didn`t she?
Where is William? Did Iolo finish with him, or did their attraction just fizzle out?

Iolo's behavior reminds me a lot of myself and people I know, so I would have to say Dyfan's been doing a superb job.

I don't know where William is but I still think he'll be back, since this is likely a long running storyline.

I'm with you on the behavior going back further, possibly related to his mother's death. Likely having something to do with the other White brothers as well. Macs and Huw have been talked about a lot in the last few weeks. They did promise returnees that would shake stuff up. If there is any storyline where I am expecting returnees in October its this one,

What did you think about the woods in Friday's episode, is that the same place Macs went in the Christmas episode? They didn't specify a place but it seemed so similar.

The show seems to be saying that his OCD is the result of a childhood trauma and with the show mentioning that Iolo used to go down in the woods where no one could see I think something happened there. That's the sense I get.

I hope we see Wiliam again. I liked him and Iolo needs a love interest.

There hasn't been a long story arch this year. PYC has always had one long term story. This one seems likely to be it. I wouldn't put too much stock in not seeing William for a while. Moc was introduced in a couple of episodes at the beginning of Gethin's storyline and then disappeared for several months before he came back. So I think definitely a possibility of seeing William again.

At this point it makes sense that someone who can't leave their house without having a panic attack wouldn't be searching out a boyfriend. Things likely will change as the storyline moves along.

Sion's is such an inept father. Why doesn't he try to understand mental health problems at this point? Surely he must have noticed these problems effect all three of his sons.

Sometimes Colin is just not funny

Sion went to pick up Iolo's things at the house. He met Colin and Gethin. Gethin wanted to know what was wrong with Iolo. Colin started this thing about how he was glad that Iolo left because his cleaning was driving him crazy. Sion ended up blurting out that Iolo had OCD and gave them a lecture.

A lot of Iolo cleaning and straightening the children's toys while Sion watched in silent judgment. Iolo told Sion he hoped he hadn't told Colin and Gethin about the OCD because they wouldn't understand. Brit finally got Iolo to agree to take the kids to the park and then Colin and Gethin show up to apologize. Gethin really tries, I think he's worried. Colin on the other hand tells Iolo that he thought the cleaning was just because he is gay (its supposed to be a joke). Iolo won't shake Gethin's hand and they leave.

Iolo tries to explain to Sion why he needs to straighten everything in the house and that he can feel Sion judging him. Sion says what do you think will happen and that Iolo must understand his behavior makes no sense. Iolo says it makes sense to him and leaves the room.

Oh Iolo is absolutely refusing to get help because his problem isn't that bad.

Thanks for the update. Sounds interesting. I don't think though that Iolo's family is prepared to deal with his issues on their own.
