Just wondered if anyone ever reads these comments.? We're all entitled to our opinions but I do wonder that sometimes things must be quite hurtful to the individual if they do! Mind you might be useful for the bbc to know what the fans think, kind of a focus group on what's going well or not!

Kristina did one year, though I have no idea if others have or do.

As this is a pretty big and well-known forum, I'd be surprised if they didn't.

Before the BBC set up their forum, Claudia used to read out posts from here on ITT.

They may read, but they don't take any blooming notice.

I got the feeling that Claudia had been reading here recently, can't remember what exactly she said to give me that impression when she cohosted with Tess last week.

Without question they read it. Which is why the very rude comments astonish me.

And we know the BBC read it because they used this form to invite us to ITT.

If they don't they should. They might learn something.

You'd like to think so, but I very much doubt if they do, they take any notice.

For years on here, I've advocated that they should bring the band out from under the stairs and set them up like "a proper big band."

Well, it's happened at last, but I think that's more to do with the fact that the old studio was tight for space and the new one makes it possible.

Yes, my wife was on this forum back in the day when SCD first started and there were few people who wrote on it. It gathered pace after another series or two, and then not only did comments used to get written about on ITT, she and many others who wrote on here were invited more than once onto the show (she declined!)

Then SCD really took off and the forum changed a little so she left, and of course now with twitter and everything, I am guessing that there are other places to now look. But back in the 'good old days' yes, they certainly did read this forum.

Yes the world and tv shows should be run by keyboard warriors.

I thought her funny comment about terms and conditions maybe was a clue. You know, the way you watch someone baiting a hapless poster and then producing the terms and conditions when they get a reaction... Possibly... Made me think it anyway.

ETA, prob some BBC underling reads it to get soundings

Those who have social media teams and publicists working on their behalf will have people to read forums and posts for them in order to gauge the public's reaction and views and manage any risk to their clients' reputation.

Ditto Twitter and FB. Monitoring social media is the norm. Paying people to respond on your behalf is normal too.

You can hire people to write your blog for you, tweet for you or shut people up for you. It's all part of the management fee.

Most good publicists would tell their clients to avoid reading this stuff because it can be vicious and rumours/hearsay can grow into a mountain of hassle from a simple post.

I'm sure I heard that Brendan warned Kelly Brook not to read forums and gossip, as some of it was quite malicious and hurtful and would upset her.

Brendan did say that he was overwhelmed by the responses on social media

that might be us as well

I think it was series 2 or 3, some forumites were invited to ITT

I really hope they don't. Things can get nasty on here. It would be a shame if they come online all excited to see what people think of their dancing and are met with countless threads devoted to calling them names and questioning their right to live (I'm thinking specifically of DVO here lol).

Some celebs, of course, trawl Twitter for any negative mention of their name, then send hugely passively aggressive replies. It's quite fun winding them up once you know that's what they'll do.

Gosh I remember the BBC boards well. The things that were said about Kelly Brook and Lisa Snowden would make the eyes water at times.

I know Aliona is very chatty with her fans as my friend Twittered her once and ALiona gave a short reply which made his day. He's since given up on Twitter as only created an account to talk to the pros, but got bored when they didn't all respond.
