When did we become a Nation of experts?
When did we become all knowing about singing/singers.
People seem to come out with all the cliché phrases 'on point' 'owned it' 'smashed it' etc for a singer they like as though the rest of us are stupid for not enjoying the same thing. Celine Dion has a great voice and can sing well, but I still don't like her type of singing. Shane Macgowan has a below average singing style and voice but I love it. It all depends what you prefer to hear not whether it is perfection. Just wanted to get that off my chest |

I think theres a difference between people having differences of opinion about styles when they have been performed well to someone who actually likes a certain style seeing it performed badly
I have been a lot more critical of abi today because I like the style she is trying to do but just don't think she did it very well whereas some of the other acts who were equally as bad I haven't really cared about as I wouldn't really like their music even if they did "nail" it |
