Abstaining?
I find it so cheap and cowardly. Can't even stand by your acts in the end.

She refused to choose between two of her acts in a previous series didn't she?

And I don't think it's balls at all. She's paid to choose, she should make her decision. To me, she's not standing by either, she's showing she doesn't believe in either. There is no conviction, she's picked the easy way out. God, I miss the days when the judges actually voted, like when Simon voted against his own act. |

I don't see why Sharon should be criticized for this. She didn't want to choose and that's her choice.

They get paid a bucket load of money and it should be part of their T&Cs to take part in the voting!

This doesn't bother me because of the result, they're both fodder, even though I preferred Lorna. It bothers me that it's setting up an even more frustrating process of "I won't vote." |

I have respect for Simon and Louis because they have both voted one of their acts off in the past. Even Simon voted for the Conway sisters (His act) when they faced another act not in his category.

It was cruel, but it's what they should do! People scream of fixing, but one of the biggest fixes within the show is the bias of judges to their own contestants.

Didn't Louis abstain last year?
It doesn't make a jot of difference who does or doesn't vote for whoever anyway, 'cos as we all know, it's just one big fix from start to finish. |

She stood by both girls. We all knew she would abstain from voting.

I can kinda understand it. I mean, if shesent home one and the other judges sent home the other..it would be really awkward for her to keep mentoring the person she wanted to send home.
I don't think it matters too much when the person abstaining votes first. Especially with this abomination of a flash vote aswell. It really pissed me off when someone (I think it was Cheryl) had to vote last, and they said they wouldnt chose between their acts, but by not chosing they sent home one by default as the other had 2 votes already. Would have been much fairer to vote, then go deadlock to let the public decide if you REALLY didnt want to chose. THAT was cowardly, as she obviously wanted the one with 2 votes to go home, just wouldnt say it. |

If the judge abstains, they should send both acts home. Or stop that judge from voting the next time they have an act in the bottom two.

How much power do the judges have anyway? Many reckon the producers tell them who to vote for so if that is the case then the producers probably told Sharon not to vote.

Considering she gets paid an absolute fortune to be a judge, she should have voted IMO.

If it isn't the final casting vote, then if a judge votes to send their own act home but that act remains behind, it isn't good for that act to know their judge wanted them out.

At least Sharon wasn't being bias to her own act. If it was Louis mentoring Sharon's category he would have sent Lorna home.
