Well particuarly the boybands they've got a strong following so it's likely they'll be through every Saturday.

It works in favour of any act whose target market are likely to be at home watching tv on a Saturday night rather than out...

The groups also have multiple sets of friends & family all voting on speed dial for those few minutes.

It's young girls, mums and nans who vote. The younger voters aren't gonna be remotely fussed about Shelley, and if my mum's anything to go by "who does she think she is? go home, love" she's not gonna get the older vote either. That's why she was bottom.

Yeah that's true, a lot of people I know are out on Saturday nights and watch the show on a Sunday.

Which is exactly what I was saying... Shelley's target market were more likely to be sat in a weatherspoon's somewhere than at home voting in the flash vote.

In fact its not just people going out, I know quite a few people with young children who record the show and watch it on a Sunday afternoon as a family as 10 is too late for their kids to stay up to.

Although I think part of the reasoning behind the flash vote is to try and get more people to watch the show live.

I never watch live and I bet most people don't either it's very unfair

Well, flash vote just favours the acts that get most votes! The thing about bands having more friends and family voting for them is the same however long the lines are open for. It can't make much difference though because a hand has only won once.
