If a contestant is bottom on the flash vote, they now need 2 neutral votes to survive.

Totally unfair.

They need to drop it, and fast. Awful decision.

I don't think it's unfair at all. Shelley needed two votes tonight, and got them, because she outsung Lorna in the sing off.

The flash vote would only work if that bottom act automatically left then and there, with the bottom two battling it out on Sunday (so two acts would leave each weekend).

As it stands, there is only a 10-minute window in which to make the first vote, then 24 hours for the second, which in itself is unfair. Then the loser of the flash vote has 24 hours to practise vocals and prepare for the sing-off, while the second loser has a matter of minutes. It is stupid and ridiculous, not to mention that it kills some of the excitement of wondering who the bottom two will be on the Sunday night.

I do not understand why the show's producers think we actually want the rules and programme structure to change all the time to be interesting; viewers prefer continuity, which is why the rotating guest judges last year failed miserably.

We need a ‘back to basics’ format. And there should be no option of abstention — judges are paid to judge and to save and evict acts. Dermot should have gone to Sharon last, as it would have forced her to cast a vote (under the old system, it would have meant deadlock; under the flash vote, she would be consciously getting rid of one act over the other).

If all 4 judges had voted then Shelly would have needed 3 votes as if the vote is tied at 2-2 then the flash vote loser goes.

Say Shelly loses the flash vote next week and Luke is the bottom act on Sunday - Louis would send Shelley home, Sharon would send Luke home, and then Shelley would need both Gary & Nicole to send Luke home for her to survive.

Its a massive uphill battle for the flash vote loser and is unfair based on just one 10 minute vote.

A flash vote should save one act, or even one act from each category. It's just unfair to do it the way its being done. Or even the bottom 3, and then the public vote on those. So many ways it could be done.

I agree with this that one act should be saved on Saturday night which will make it fairer as the way it is at the moment as someone has already said the act who has fewer votes and in the sing off on sat has more time to rehearse their bottom 2 song.

That's a much better idea.

It's awful and I don't know how it's fair for the other contestants to have longer time to receive votes and the other 10mins.
