I would love to see a show were the SCD pros's were pitched against each other in competiton, anyone else favour this idea

Can't see it happening.
The BBC would see it as partly devaluing Strictly, though I would like them to have more time in front of the cameras, rather than having pop singers who've naff-all to do with dancing.
But the BBC see these as helping the ratings.
"So as that's important" we'll continue to get them.

I'd love to see the pros in some kind of 'special' featuring pro dances. I don't think I'd like to see it turned into a competition. I'd prefer something that shows off their skills as a team without them having to stress over who is best.

No.

I do think they should be less controlling of the pros and give them choice over their music and choreography.
I think they should also increase the potential of the celebs they bring onto the show. There are usually too few with potential.

Before series 10 they had pros who all came with a ballroom background. I think the character of the show gets diluted if you go away from the original concept.

I do think that Moira Ross was the best producer they have had because of the changes she introduced for series 8 (despite her causing several of my favourite pros to no longer be on the show).
I would have liked to have seen what those pros who left at that time would have done with more artistic freedom and more training time together. The quality of the pro dances would have been higher IMO.
I would like to see them feature the singers from the band doing songs that suit them. Some of the acts they bring on are well below what the band could do.

Yep! So would I, the BBC do not understand why the audience watch this programme in their millions....... Certainly not for the singists.......! It's for the dancing........ But I do think the production this year is far superior to the past two years, so slick.

The Pros have already done their serious professional competing against each other and got their national or international titles to show for, so I don't think they need to go through all that again just for our benifit. Strictly is a time for them to compete in a fun way and get an opportunity to pass on some of their years worth of experience to someone that has never competed professionally in their field at a top class level.

If you want to see serious Pros competing then you can get down to a major competion somewhere in the country, I think some let in everyday public members (prob at a price). But I don't think the Pros want to sqaure up against each other on here, hence why they do Strictly where there is a celeb involved which decreased the intensity of real life professional competion. Otherwise if they wanted to be back in a serious-type of competing show, they can do SYTYCD (or another format like it) where all the contestants are already dancers competing and showcasing their skills for airtime and whatever they get off the back of it. Some of the pros on this show have done SYTYCD already.

Personally I'd love to see more Pro numbers on the results show, but I presume we can't because where would the Pros get the time to rehearse more numbers (alongside training their celebs too), and also the Beeb can only show so much of the show otherwise they'd prob fear SCD overload if they take up too make collective hrs up during the week.

I wouldn't mind giving up the Xmas special for an hour long pro special. I know time is tight for the remaining pros still in the competition at the time of filming this but they could work round it somehow. Even if it was just to re-rehearse pro dances already done that series to put them all into one big hour long extravaganza.

I'll never understand why they never made a DVD of the pro tour a few years back.... That was brilliant!

ETA : In fact, scrap this idea!! I only ever really wanted this to happen while Flavia and Vincent were still in the show but if they can't be part of the Pro Extravaganza, then I don't want it to happen!

Yes, I'd like to see more pro-dances on the show instead of the singing guests (or with singing guests who, like Paloma Faith are happy for the dancers to be centre stage). I'd also like to see other genres of dance featured in 'dance showcases'.

On The US show they don't have any qualms about bringing back former pros for pro-dance numbers (and I believe we'll get Flavia and Vincent this season), but I think it would be a nice thing to do on Strictly from time to time (and might be helpful at the start when most of the current pros are still very busy).

I pretty much agree with everything. Well said

I think inviting pros to dance on the result could be good - the regular pros on the show as said would be hard pushed to do more than one pro number a week and train their celeb partners.

A good start would be Kevin Clifton's sister who is world No1 in ballroom with her Italian partner and their dems are really good - yes would like to see Flav and Vincent do a dem this season too

They are supposed to be back with a showdance this year. It was originally planned for last weekend but it was cancelled in the end and they are trying to reschedule another one to fit in.
