Chris Brown signed a new artist by the name of Sevyn Streeter, who reminds me so much of Kelly Rowland. Sevyn wrote a lot of Chris Brown hits including "Fine China" and she also wrote Ariana Grande's "The Way". She was in a Destinys Child like girl group called RichGirls, where she was the Kelly Rowland of the group. Streeters latest singles "It Won't Stop" feat. Chris Brown, and "I Like It" are getting major play on US airwaves.
What do you all think, does Sevyn Streeter have enough talent to become bigger than Kelly Rowland?

Not sure about her as a solo artist, but she is a very good songwriter.

She wrote Pieces and All The Way Home for Tamar Braxton. I like her talent.

Thanks, I didn't know she wrote those songs for Tamar Braxton, she definitely can write her ass off.

I heard I Like It a few months ago, it's a great song.

I doubt she'd be bigger than Kelly Rowland though. Even 10% of Kelly's success would be good. I hope she has a lot more success though, since she deserves it.

Kelly has never been super successful as a solo artist. She's sold around 5 million albums worldwide maybe a little more as a solo artist in the last 11 years from 4 albums and the majority of those sales are from the first two albums. Even by RnB standards, it's not amazing.

Am I the only one that gets a Kelly Rowland vibe from Sevyn Streeter though?

What, you guys think she's going to get a hit bigger than Dilemma, even as a featured artist? I hope she does, but it's extremely unlikely. I think people are forgetting how big that song was... And not only that, there's When Love Takes Over, and then her solo singles like Motivation, Work, Stole, Can't Nobody, etc. which all did well.

There's hundreds of female R&B singers, the 10 most successful this century probably include Aaliyah, Ashanti, Beyonce, Ciara, Brandy, Mariah Carey, Keri Hilson, Alicia Keys, Keyshia Cole, etc.

Kelly Rowland is up too, one of the most famous R&B singers in the world.

There's some deluded people that would list all the above as "flops", but they really all are top of their genre. And there's people like Tamar Braxton, Ariana Grande and of course Sevyn Streeter who could be up there one day, but it's not easy at all to get that success.

You all said the same thing about Robin Thicke when I kept bringing his name up in comparison to Justin Timberlake and look at Robin Thicke now, doing major numbers out in the UK. But I'm curious to know why you think this, when the UK loves and appreciates Kelly Rowland even moreso than the US.

I am not so sure she is going to be as big as Kelly Rowland as she has had a successful career as a solo artist.

I'm not saying Kelly is a flop, but I am saying that her solo career is what you would look to as the pinnacle of success.

Sevym Streeter's Writing Credits:
Ariana Grande's "The Way",
Chris Brown's - "Yeah 3x", "Next to You" featuring Justin Bieber , "Wet the Bed -" featuring Ludacris -, "Strip" featuring Kevin McCall - , "Biggest Fan", "Party Hard", "Do It Again", "Touch Me", "Beg for It", "Remember My Name", "Bomb" featuring Wiz Khalifa - , "Oh My Love" and "Fine China",
Fantasia Barrino - "Get It Right" and "End of Me", [b]Tamar Braxton [/B ]- "All the Way Home", "Pieces".
Kelly Rowland's - "Keep It Between Us".

If she can write hits for those artist imagine what she will do with her own songs. I'm just saying.

robin thicke has been around for years and years, yet it took some crap called blurred lines for the UK to take notice. I'm pretty sure he will also be seen as a one hit wonder here within the next few years.

Also Kelly got top 10 with her latest album in the US. It's nowhere to be seen in the UK.
Basically ur whole comment is nonsense
