Eastenders Grant the main man
Not gonna sound to corny lol. But ive just been watching some eastenders classics and I honestly think eastenders was at its best when Grant was there. Everything about him you always wanted to watch. The angry side the soft side even the comedy side. Unlike a lot off past eastenders so called hard men. Grant was scary he had that presence where you felt scared. When they bought in Derek he was just someone to laugh at. Dennis was hard but his acting wasn't great. I just think that's what eastenders is missing.

I do think now would be a good time for Grant to return, especially with Bianca there as I think there is still some unresolved stories involving Tiffany (the original) that they could feature.

Grant needs to return if and when the writing improves. For now, we have enough returnees being written terribly for.
I agree with Scrabbler regarding the unresolved Tiffany issues. |

No, not at the momment with the writing this dreadful, it would ruin the character. Grants 2005-6 stint wasn't what I hoped for, I just wasn't seeing the Grant Mitchell I knew in the 90s, I was seeing Ross Kemp. I think the character should only return if the writing is really good and if Ross Kemp is funny commited to the role, I don't think he was in his last stint.

@laneyboy101
I agree, and I think Ross only came back in '05 as a favour to his old colleagues in order to help boost ratings. I don't think he'd do that again, though. I'd be very surprised if he ever came back (maybe when Phil is written out of the show) and I don't think Barbara Windsor will either. She certainly shouldn't, anyway. |
