We have a Xbox 360 in the living room. We had the console since 2011 and i have heard about xbox live since we got it basically,i have made a account and thats as far as i have got.

Come to now and my dad is thinking of buying a xbox live for xmas. The thing is we need a couple of questions anwsering.

To get xbox live do we need the kinect console? I do know the kinect is for movements and motions but when i read the description on the website it sounded like you dont need the kinect.

Secondly, the xbox obviously needs a connection to go live. Our xbox is in the living room with our broadband connection in the dining room. I dont know what else to say but what do we need to get a connection for the xbox live?

Thank You

No you don't need kinect for Xbox live. Secondly as long as your internet connection has a router you can set up a wireless connection on your xbox.

Hope this helps

What version is your Xbox? I think if it is the slim version (thin with a piano black finish) then it has wireless built in, in which case it will be easy to connect. If not you'll need to get a wireless adapter, which can be got nowadays for cheap.

Kinect isn't needed.

With Gold you will be able to use things like Youtube, Netflix etc. so it's definitely worth getting if you don't have anything else to hook up to your TV.
