Sauces
Hi everyone,
I am doing a project into Daddies Sauce and I would love to know what you think of it - or if you have ever heard of it? Daddies sauce have a tomato ketchup and brown sauce range. Do you know anyone that uses it? Are they male/female, and what is their rough age. Do you use brown sauce? If so, on what foods and what brand do you use? (HP, Branston, own-brand etc.) Why do you pick that brand? Are you brand loyal or would you be willing to swap? Lastly what do you think of the bottle and label design? I have attached a link to their website incase you have never seen it before! http://www.heinz.co.uk/sauce-partners/daddies Thank you very much everyone, this would be a great help!! |

I have pretty well always known and heard of Daddies brown
sauce and am familiar with the appearance of the bottle but I have never actually bought or knowingly tried it I did not realize it was made by Heinz and going for such a long time [launched in 1904 ] I am almost and every day user of Heinz salad creams and love many Heinz products I may buy a bottle of the brown sauce -next time I go shopping |

My Father was for many years the only person I knew to use it! He always has loved it - well, as long as I remember and my Mother often jokes about how much he loved it at university, so at least 40 odd years.
None of us in the family ever liked it, and it was only when I went to university that I met other people who loved it - both male and female and all would now be around my age (mid 30s). My Dad wouldn't swap brands for anything - he is very loyal to it and I think it has as much to do with nostalgia and loyalty as anything else. Bear in mind that is all only for the Brown Sauce! Ketchup has always been Heinz for us, and I don't recall anyone I know using Daddies ketchup ever. The brand IMO is certainly most well known and associated with brown sauce. Good luck with your project

Daddies is my favourite brown sauce. However i am not loyal enough to swap for another brand if there is an offer on.
I miss the bottle with the picture of the old man on, which you could turn upside down and it became a young boy. |

i would regard daddies as a premium brand
personally, I have brown sauce with bacon (cooked breakfast, bacon sandwich, etc). with no bacon - eg just a hot dog, I would have red sauce, or mustard. |

I'm in my forties and we always had Daddies sauce when I was a child. Both tomato ketchup and brown sauce. I still buy it now and again, it's good sauce!

I use it infrequently. A good product but not something I would use often.
