Intolerable DS adverts and iPhone
At some point today, new adverts have appeared on the DS forums for games available on the App Store. The problem is that EVERY TIME I refresh the page, I am automatically redirected to the App Store which shows the game. This is without me pressing anywhere on the screen or confirming that I want to leave Safari to follow an App Store link.
Anyone else experiencing this? It's awful. |

I haven't experienced that. But I have seen the return of skim links (although relatively few) on the DS forums over the last few days, seeing them in Chrome and Safari on iOS 7, and also on Chrome in Jelly Bean on my tablet too.

I'm getting lots of ads on every page and lots of words highlighted into links.
I have also found that DS is taking longer to load each page now because of these ads. |

Was just about to post a thread on this. It's so annoying and it only started happening today. Nearly every link to a post redirects me to the App Store even though I have pop up blockers etc turned on in settings & has green words (gaming)
It's only happening with this site & it's making it almost unusable! ![]() Edit: using the Chrome browser and it's the same but the pop ups get blocked |

Hi guys,
In order for us to escalate these and get them sorted faster, we need people to provide screenshots of the problem. You can find out how to screenshot here: - On a desktop: Windows / Mac - On an iPad Please then upload the images to tinypic.com and post the link to the image in this thread or alternatively email them to forum [at] digitalspy.co.uk. That is to say: if you are experiencing any problems with adverts (green words while logged in, ads instead of next page (?) etc.) it is imperative you take a screenshot. Thanks. |

Am I right in assuming that skim links shouldn't be visible to logged in users - as was the case in the past?

Every time I refresh the page or load a new one (it happened when I pressed Reply just now) is this...
The page very briefly loads as normal. Note the advert in the top right corner. Sometimes it's at the bottom of the screen. http://i43.tinypic.com/2dhi689.jpg Almost immediately, and without me pressing anything at all, I'm redirected to the App Store, like this: http://i41.tinypic.com/jsj4lv.jpg It's not always the very same app, but always a game from the same developer and the one seen in the corner of the DS forums page just before it redirects to the App Store. I was also seeing the AdSense words whilst logged in. I had to go to the AdSense website and opt out. |

I've had this one twice today. There doesn't appear to be any way of closing it down other than re-booting the ipad, which is incredibly annoying.

I've been getting this as well - trying to view some threads and being bounced directly into the app store.

Yes I get words highlighted ("apps" for example) and the ads in the top right corner. This on Chrome on PC.
I had an ad opening as well, that I had to close in order to be able to view the forum again. http://i41.tinypic.com/11j0v9z.jpg |

I'm getting the same problem on an Android tablet (the in thread link ads), so it's not just an Apple problem. Yesterday I got taken to the Google Play store. Not sure what it was trying to get me to install, because pressing back got me out of it before the relevant page loaded in Google Play.

yep getting green AdChoice links while logged in here too. Windows 7, Chrome.
Assumed it was a rogue extension but I think I've eliminated other possibilites now |

If you're seeing the green links, you can go to the AdChoices site (from the pop-up above the green text) and opt out. Then you won't see them anymore.
DS will probably sort this out, but for now you can do that. |

Well everything is a lot better now for me anyway, no adverts taking to the App Store and no green links.

The BEKO advert is ridiculous. You cant click links because of it.

Something else I've also noticed that's started to happen is that the Quick Reply box has disappeared too.
The only way to reply is to quote a post then delete the text. |
