I don't mean to sound like such a fanboy but I've never seen a soap as good as the last week of Emmerdale.

It didn't even feel like a soap. It felt like a full blown drama.

I even enjoyed tonights more than last nights. Even tho last nights still had comedy moments to laugh at, tonights ep (2nd episode especially) really had me hiding behind my fingers.

Brilliant.

Where are the people who always complained about how long the Cameron storyline is going on for now?

I said the same thing to my housemate earlier. She moaned for months about the length of the Cam story.. but she agreed tonight that it had made the conclusion better because we really cared and understood the characters.

When Cameron appeared behind Debbie was one of the best scenes in a soap for ages, talk about tense and chilling , plus when the lights came back on in the pub, and he was standing in front of Marlon with a psycho look on his face,,,,just excellent.

Emmerdale have raised the bar to a whole new level with these episodes, it will be tough to match it. Also the touches of humour throughout has been just right, I laughed at the one liners as much as being excited by the action.

Emmerdale have produced some great special episodes, and storylines over the last few years, it has to be the top soap now surely,,,not even Corrie has topped these episodes and I love Corrie.

The best lines ever though was between Bernice and Nicola :

Bernice "He was probably measuring me up to make a suit out of my skin or something..."

Nicola "It'd be a bit baggy."

Brilliant

There's a exterior door to the cellar out front of the Woolie, Cameron had less chance of catching up with them if they rushed to that door, they didn't expect the wall to break down and flood the whole cellar.

It was already flooded when Marlon was in. They had to jump into the water and were swimming / drowning pretty soon. Debbie knew as she'd already been in the cellar and anyway weren't the windows nearer when they were actually in the pub?

The water was only at waist height when Debbie saw Marlon, it only began rising after the wall caved in.

It was incredible, imagine if Emmerdale did that after the watershed, it could of been like a proper horror movie.
Also in answer to a couple of questions, its obvious Marlon got out of the water and went to the windows to alert the police as to where Cameron, Debbie and Chas were.
They went to the cellar as Cameron had locked all the other doors.
One thing that I wished they had done, just to top it off was for the whole village to start flooding so you see them all having to go round on Boats, no soap has done that before so it would really top it off and also what makes me laugh is on the news reports on the website, there is a video that has been filmed way after the eps as its not raining, the reporter is dry and so is Bob who gets interviewed. Like their use of filming footage and promotional shots in the news reports though haha

Cameron had the keys, Marlon smashed him over the head, hhit the deck, dropped the gun, and the biggest flaw was Marlon NOT hitting him again, or grabbing the gun and shooting him dead......

God, that was brilliant!!! And such an excellent choice of main actors. We all knew Marlon wouldn't shoot him - anyone else, maybe, but never him. So many wonderful moments. It felt like a film at the end. When I first read about the siege, I had no inkling it would be anything like as fantastic as that.

Well done to Lucy Pargeter, Mark Charnock (I know a lot of people don't rate him, but I love his character - a genuinely good man), Dominic Power, Freddie Jones (who I don't think even had lines!), and so many others.

I liked how the writers have underlined how important Ruby and Ali are to each other. In a few scenes, their love (and the pressures they face for being together) has really been underlined.

Thanks to ED, cast and crew. Brilliant entertainment, and all the time quietly pushing on the background stories - Alicia/David, Declan (who shows signs of being out of the rut he was in), the Spencers, etc. I liked how involved Sam and Rachel were - they're both played by excellent actors and it was so realistic that they'd be there. Shame Charity is always absent when Debbie has a big storyline, but that's a minor quibble - loved it, loved it!!

Chas had a key to the cellar. If they had tried to get the police's attention at the window while Marlon and Cameron were fighting for the gun they would have been back to square one had Cameron got their first and they had no guarantees of getting through the back door in time. The cellar was passable until the wall collapsed.

The gun had no shot left after yesterday's episode (one in Alicia and one through the window) - Cameron pulled the trigger at Debbie and the women dived for it when they realised it had no shot but Cameron managed to fight them off and reload.

The drains seemed to give up, and water spurted into the street in jets. A current of water rushed down towards the cellar and smashed through the weakened wall. I think the water came from the overworked drains rather than the river so they may need some medication after swimming about in it!

The cellar has a delivery hatch at the back which Chas had bolted when she realised there was no policeman outside - not realising Cameron had already got in.

At the end, both Chas and Marlon had reached the steps leading back to the pub but Cameron had grabbed hold of Debbie - Chas told Marlon to go and get help while she went back to try and find Debbie; they eventually found themselves at the other end of the cellar and escaped via the hatch.

Even if it was just ground/river water, that would be bad enough. When our cellar flooded last year, it stank the place out - the water was really vile, cloudy and smelly. There's something really creepy about watching groundwater seep into your house. I wonder if last year's floods inspired this story?

Well done to all the crew & cast at Emmerdale. Fantastic viewing. An award must be due for this outstanding quality.

It could have still played out the same way, Cameron could have knocked Cain out whilst he wasn't looking and then Cain could have faced Cameron down with Chas/Debbie.”

Was anyone else expecting Cain to pull up at the end in his car but even my husband said he wouldn't have got a flight home so soon. I was shouting at Marlon to shoot him but Marlon couldn't pull the trigger. Poor Zak refused to leave until he knew his niece and grand-daughter were safe and then Ruby at Home Farm was going about making food even though she had been a hostage and had tried to save a person's life but I really like Ruby as a person.
Bernice wasn't long making herself at home with the wine and the scene with Jimmy and Nicola at Home Farm did nothing. Dom can't act and I did feel sorry for Priya when David told her to take Jacob home and he would stay on at the hospital.
I know that Debbie ran into Zak's arms at the end but who did Chas run to.
One thing is clear Cameron was determined to get rid of Chas you could hear the hatred in his voice

The storyline was too long and the ending although spectacular was also very disappointing as it was nothing but manipulative writing to redeem Debbie without the character having to pay for any of her crimes or even admit/understand/reflect/acknowledge her own mistakes - especially her role in Gennie's death.

So there was a lot of shouting but where is the character progression for Debbie - the main character of this storyline? Even Cameron despite turning into a psycho showed more self-awareness and lucidity than Debbie.

I think it was Lisa that Chas ran to.
