Odd thread I know, but this seemed the best place to ask as I am not remotely savvy with anything like this. But I took the kids over the park and on the side of the pitch was a bag with a couple sports vests/bibs - but also a few of these memory modules which look the identical ones to those in the links below.

The bag looked discarded, these modules are still in the plastic casing and instruction page neatly folded and look new except with all, the HP paper seal is torn - so they've all been opened - and presumably used.

What exactly are they for and is there any worth to them? Would they have any info of who had used them?

They all have the same serial and part numbers - which when searched, bring up these, which are them.

Thanks for any advice,

RAM, no info of who used them, nothing stored on them and worth second hand (if they work).

It would appear from a Google search that these modules are used in HP ProLiant Gen8 servers, primarily for business users.

If the modules can only be used in this range of servers then I'm guessing they will be of limited value..IF they work (as LION8TIGER pointed out). If they've been subject to the elements and mishandled then probably they won't.

Covenco buy and sell used HP servers and spares. Perhaps drop them an email and see what they say as to whether it would be worth your while (or theirs) to send the modules on spec for appraisal: http://www.covenco.co.uk/hardware-fo...FY7HtAod6AgAZg
