3 days on the trot now i've had my phone fully charged when I get up in the morning and at around this time of night, as it is now, it's down to 5% or less.

I don't think I do anything battery intensive on it at the moment, but i'm starting to get concerned the battery might be borked.

I have Pure Siesta iDock DAB radio with dock on it that I put the phone on overnight to charge, so my first thought was maybe i'm overcharging it ?.

Obviously it wouldn't take all night to re-charge, so would leaving it on mains power for 4-6 hours cause problems ?

I've had 6 hours use and 13 hours standby so far today as well.

Or am I just being a bit paranoid ?

"Also, the battery drain issue seems to be particularly severe for users of the iPhone 4s and there is no definite solution in sight so far."

Turn everything off, especially every location service. There should be one main culprit.

You could try: Settings>General>Background App Refresh>Off
Also turn off notifications for things you're not using.

Thanks for the replies. I'd already turned off all the unecessary stuff including background app refresh. Location services is only active for 4 things, all fairly necessary for what they are (Maps, Sky WiFi e.t.c..).

It was actually slightly better yesterday for some reason, so I'll see how it goes. At least replacing the battery on the 4s does seem relatively straightforward, unlike when I had to do it back on my old 3G .. I ended up using a plastic doorstop to prise the case open back then

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5594You have two sections of location services. The stuff like when are where you use each app is obviously to help increase revenue in iAds, which themselves are triggered by GPS.
Google have done similar expanding theirs, with Android now having two off switches.
Apple's long list is useful on a per app basis, but the other stuff possibly ensures Apple tracks most people.
It is hard to fully understand that long System Services List so try turning them all off including at the master switch.

Reading that, there is simply no way you can turn off the crowd-source hot spot tracking unless Location Services is maybe off at the master switch.

The weird thing is that it almost looks like you GPS is on 100% of the time for traffic crowd sourcing.
