I am currently on season 7 of Grey's Anatomy dvd and I am on episode 14, but noticed a musical episode is in this season on episode 18, just wondering why?

I can understand Buffy the vampire slayer did a musical episode but not Grey's Anatomy as its a medical drama.

Is the musical part of a storyline or something? it just seems odd that is all.

Can't wait to see it though and by the way I am loving this season so far, season 8 dvd came today so I don't have to wait to see the next season.

its a bit weird it being in Greys but loads of shows that have been going for years have done one. I would have preferred them to do the episode as a gritty drama rather than a musical because of the context and Greys does drama best, however the singing is good as Sara Ramirez is awesome

Sara Ramirez is indeed awesome. I quite liked it - it was different and unexpected, but it sort of weirdly worked. I think they just wanted to do a musical episode and worked the story to fit the idea.

I really liked the musical episode, I've always thought of it as a bad idea well executed. Without Sara Ramirez carrying it I doubt it would have worked so well, but then without her I doubt Shonda Rhimes would have eve considered it.

I am a huge fan of musicals but this was terrible. Sara Raimrez carried it well but none of the songs really fitted in with what was going on and they didn't suit the vocals either

It's the only episode of Grey's where i actually changed the channel.

It was embarrassing. Just because an actress can sing doesn't mean they should.

It was supposed to be a big, earth-shattering and heartbreaking drama for one of our most beloved characters, but I was alternating between laughing and cringing. I mean, it made ghost-sex look good.

I don't know why they did it, but I did enjoy it. It made me giggle. I especially enjoyed Chyler Leigh's (Lexie Grey's) rendition of Anna Nahlick's Breathe (2am), I thought she sang it beautifully.

I liked it, it was something different and a bit of fun for a one off.
Callie is my favourite character and Sara did carry that episode. I've recently been watching season 1-3 again and keep noticing the songs from the musical episode.

I just watched it and it was quite good, I liked the 1st music with Snow Patrol (Chasing Cars) and how to save a life.

Now going to watch episode 19

Also Owen is a good singer

I loved it - still have it saved on the tv upstairs!!

Why wouldn't you watch it before asking though, its only a few episodes away.

Anyone noticed on Season 7 dvd that disc 5 is messed up with episodes?

After I watched the musical episode I clicked on to episode 19 but I was confused it was the musical episode again, this time it was the extended.

And episode 20 should have been titled episode 19, I thought at first it was missing a episode

It's very confusing at first

Well that is season 7 over for me, its been a good season. didn't expect Cristina to be pregnant in the series final but she is getting rid of it, it seems this is a big issue for Owen.

Wonder if their have any problems still in season 8, well going to start season 8 maybe tomorrow

Will do

Any news yet if Grey's Anatomy is getting a season 11? I can't click on news on google just in case it says spoilers for the current season 10.

I really hope season 10 is not the last, Grey's Anatomy is the best US medical drama since ER.

If it ends after this current season I will miss it but I am praying it will get a 11th season and maybe more as I want it to continue for many years

I really enjoyed the episode. I loved how it started off with Callie singing the theme song. I think the show did well to mix the singing in with the story and keep it coherent.

I didn't like all the songs in it but I fell in love with The Story and have it on repeat quite often. Sara sang it wonderfully; she's a great singer, as is Kevin.

Would've been awesome to have Cristina singing something but maybe Sandra didn't want to.

I can see why people wouldn't like it; I think I read that Patrick Dempsey didn't like it, but I thought it was great and it had lots of Callie who I love.

I love this song too and also listen to it quite often. Sara does have an amazing voice.
