Patrick Troughton biography

In case any second Doctor, or Patrick Troughton fans are interested, I have just finished reading a biography about the actor, written by his son Michael Troughton.
It's simply called "Patrick Troughton, The Biography of the second Doctor Who"
I bought mine on Amazon and it's autographed by the authour. It's a good read, revealing facts about the man I never knew. There is a lot of Doctor Who stuff for fans of the show.

Thanks for the reminder. I was out of work when this originally came out so didn't buy it at the time.

It was also his son, Michael Troughton who stared along Rik Mayall in The New Statesman in the late 80's\early 90's (still watch the dvd's of that show now lol). Was always impressed by his performance in that and thought it a shame we never got to see more of his son on tv. As he also based on Statseman episodes, had similar acting characteristics that I seen in both son and father at the time of watching New Statesman and the Seeds Of Death VHS when that came out when New Statseman was broadcast at the same time.

Always sent chills down my spine seeing how similar there characteristics came accross on TV and the same eyes to!.

I enjoyed this book a lot. Only criticism is it could have used more proofreading. It's a shame how many of Troughton's great TV performances in addition to Doctor Who no longer exist, and how we barely missed getting a repeat of his famous Quilp.

Now if they'd only reprint Who's There? by Hartnell's granddaughter. Another good read.

I agree, I have a copy of that book and it's another excellent insight into early Who and the man who played him.

It is due to be reprinted in the next few weeks by Fantom Films.

Well done Fantom!

Updated and signed, I see. Well, there goes a bit more of my savings...
