I had been pretty impressed with the costumes this series..... up until now!

Abbey and Aljaz look good though.

Why is Deborah wearing orthopaedic shoes and Kevin can't dance in those boot surely?

They're the poorest bunch of dresses this series by far. Couldn't they have covered up Abbey a bit more, they've made her look like she's going to a tribute Abigail's party?

She's doing a Camilla Dallerup memorial quickstep which means she dances in fugly trousers.

There are some seriously strange images there .

Rachel also seems to be wearing white shoes with black tights - an abomination in my view (although given the ensemble, it doesn't look out of place since the whole thing is an abomination).

They appear to have dressed Deborah as Mammy Two Shoes from Tom and Jerry.

Natalie looks like she's had several balls of wool stuck to her head, that dress is fugly and makes her look like she's got three legs (ooh, we're back to Anton again).

Patrick looks like he's accidentally strayed onto an athletics track and decided to join in.

Sophie reminds me of Lindsay Duncan in that pic.

What is it with the stripes down the men's trousers this series? Have they got a new wonder glue gun or can they not sew straight seams so have to keep covering the seams with strips of gormless ribbon or sparkly stuff.

I don't think Kevin got his outfit on yet.... Or if he has, they must have spent do long on Patricks trouser stripe that they didn't bother with Kevin at all!

EDIT: Or maybe he's just got the top half on?

Is there any point bothering to ask why Ola is wearing a ballroom dress that's split to the waist so we can see her sparkly pants? I guess the answer to that is "because it's Ola"...


They said it was an Indiana Jones theme so I think they're the right trousers (he's wearing braces so they are connected...). The shoes look really weird though

Yet some of the dresses are stunning, some of the best yet IMHO. Bit of a dichotomy this week.

I think they're all hideous bar Karen who's wearing the single most boring ballroom dress I've ever seen, Sophie who'd look good in a sack (but then I would gave said the same of Natalie until this monstrosity) and Susanna, whose dress I liked on ITT, but can't really see on that pic.

Some thoughts....

Sophie & Brendan will be called Fred & Ginger at least three times tonight.

Anton will have enough trouser malfunction.

Ashley, Tess or the Judges will mention the fact Ashley's a new dad. Because he is you know, and that makes training for the Viennese Waltz even harder.

Rachel's outfit makes her look like a cross between Olive Oyl and an explosion in a charity shop

Deborah & Robin are dressed as that awful couple you meet on the first night of your holidays, who spend the next fortnight telling you hilarious anecdotes from their lives and insisting that you "pop in and see us if you're ever passing Cleethorpes".

Patrick & Anya could take a bucket load of E and dance naked but for trainer socks, and I doubt it would make their Cha-Cha-Cha any more memorable. I frequently forget that they're there (probably as much my fault as it is theirs)

Abbey's looks good & I like Sophie, Fiona & Karen's dresses. Karen's in particular has a very understated look including godet filled hem.

Sorry hun, disagree and think Abbey's is probably one of THE most hideous (Rachel is always going to win that competition this week). She's 27 not 77 and if it was pink I'd think she was going to a Dame Barbara Cartland fancy dress party. Aljaz must have not annoyed wardrobe though as he looks gorgeous.

Karen's is lovely, but boring. I have dresses like that in my wardrobe.

Fiona's looked better on the mannequin.

Sophie is the only one who looks appropriate for their dance or not like a charity shop find.

Im ever so slightly speechless after seeing some of these outfits! Ashleighs' trousers are practically up to his throat, Deborahs skirt looks awful from this picture - thank god its coming off! And didnt we see Robin in a similar wig before maybe with Anita Dobson? Rachel Natalie looks like she had 3 legs

Going on ITT Abbey's dress is backless, which might make it look less frumpy. Think their dance looks good in that picture. And I like that Dave and Karen are going for the 'we are really trying to do it properly' look for their waltz.

But other than that, and that Suzanna's may be better when you can see it properly, none of the costumes look at all good and Natalie and Rachel's are hideous. It looks like Robin is about to pull his trousers off, which I'm guessing means Ben isn't going to pull his trousers off as well, so presumably it's his shirt that needed the velcro.

They really do spend 2 minutes during a coffee break on Mark's costumes, don't they. It's starting to make me grumpy.
