Its interesting to see there will be no full series of Doctor Who this year but instead four one-hour specials, two shown at Easter 2009 and two at Christmas 2009. I'm guessing that it will go like this - one on Christmas Day and one on New Year's Day 2010 which is perfect for BBC1.

I've heard on the Doctor Who podcast for The Next Doctor that the last two episodes are a two-parter. I think they'll show only one episode at Easter another later in the year and then one on Christmas Day and the other on New Year's Day.

After watching it I don't think it will have done as well as I predicted earlier, it was a bit dull in parts but maybe thats because I knew who was going in. I still think it will beat 5.4m (overnights) set by BB9 though.

I think 5.4m sounds about right.

I think it'll be Easter Saturday (possibly Sunday), then the first week of Strictly Come Dacning (mid-September), Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

I'm a huge fan of the show but something seemed missing tonight, something which didn't make me really want to tune in tomorrow

I think, for me, it's a case of having seen it all before. I don't think I can really fault the celebrities they've chosen. I'll still watch but I don't think it's any longer a show to get excited about.

I agree- I really like the line up but there was something lacking in the launch show. Maybe it was a secret mission because we've had them for the past 2 series in a row on launch night (BBCH and BB9) but as much as Davina was excited about it ... I just wasn't although at the same time I couldn't stop watching it

Whether or not CBB6 is a success, changes are still needed for BB10 and it has to move forward into a new era, not backwards and going back to basics.

Yeah, it's funny seeing Davina get all excited and I'm just sitting there going "meh".

I agree that the format needs to evolve. But they're afraid of change, it seems...

Looking back at New Years Day I think a schedule like this would have been much better for BBC1:

6.30pm-Celebrity Mastermind
7pm-Wallace & Gromit (R)
7.30pm-Eastenders
8.30pm-Jonathan Creek
10.30pm-BBC News

This would also have destroyed ITV1's schedule even more I think with no Mastermind against The Bill & JC having a half hour lead on Marple. EE would have kept its audience and JC would still have got the great lead in, also finishing a little earlier meaning less of a drop off in viewers (which is what normally happens with dramas finishing at 11pm).

Not afraid to scrap most of the coverage and piss off 90% of the hardcore fans.

They want an IACGMOOH mark 2. Want its ratings, anyway.

CBB got 5.27m last night, peaking at 5.84m. Channel 4 should be pretty pleased, especially as it also meant that Rude Tube straight afterwards got 2.82m.

Do you have the C4+1 figure for CBB, and other ratings from last night? I'm guessing that Corrie was back on top of EE.

Eastenders was 8.97m, and Corrie was 9.28m.

CBB only got 186,000 on +1, though that might be because it was up against Big Mouth on E4 that got 800,000.

CBB share was 21.6%, peaking at 23.5%

Good night for ITV and Channel 4 - good for ITV that Emmerdale's doing business for them while The One Show isn't on. Bad night for both BBC channels. CBBL had a good rating, but hopefully tomorrow we can really see how many die-hard fans stay up from 2 till 6 to watch.

Midsomer Murders delivered a good figure with 5.0m (22%), and a good night for E4 overall. Morecambe and Wise flopped with 3.66m (15%).

The Doctor Who programme is now all over BBC News, so expect it to get good ratings
