What do people think are Outnumbered's chances of a third series? It's doing just OK on Saturday nights but at least it's maintaining its audience and the people that are watching it love it.

It's a decent enough comedy however has BBC 2, 10pm written all over it.

I'd love a third series, although I suspect they'd have to write "Jake" out of it or his education might suffer. "Karen" and "Ben" could carry on for another series or two though. I wonder what they're like in real life, normal kids or obnoxious brats?!!

That's interesting...it could be a mistake, but I doubt it. Maybe what people have been suggesting (ITV Soap Hour from 8pm) is actually going to happen?

EDIT: Maybe it is a mistake because Friday's episode is advertised as 8pm.

Next Thursday's episode is the one hour finale and the final omnibus a week on Sunday is already 90 minutes long.

So this late switch will create the need for a two hour final omnibus after next week if they do not air it before next Wednesday.

Taken off BBC HD as well tonight and replaced by a Green, Green Grass repeat. That is less obvious given that the Shannon programme is not in HD so there was no actual conflict. Presumably they just want to keep the BBC 1/HD episodes synchronised but it means they will have to pull something off BBC HD when they do reschedule.

By the looks of things, BBC1 are simply airing tonight's Little Dorrit as part of the Sunday omnibus.

Little Dorrit has struggled because it has lacked the scheduling that Bleak House had following Eastenders on Thursdays and Fridays. Fridays second helping of C/S has caused a mini crisis for the Beeb, not just for LD.

However for w/e 23/11 LD got 3.81m and 3.71m for its weekday outings and a further 3.84m on Sunday.
Overall the show is not a flop but perhaps has looked a bit lost in the week.

Nonsense. On BBC2 in that slot it would get half the audience it's getting now. And the not brilliant BBC1 ratings are largely down to ITV's current dominance of the latter part of Saturdays.

It's one of those programmes that's too good and liked to be axed, no matter how dire the ratings it gets.

I think Waterloo Road will do fine on Wednesdays at 8pm. I don't think it needs the EE lead in to do well really. I think it's a strong show on its own, as it is established as a once a year series now and the last series got 5 million + consistently.

The thing is - it'll be an advantage for both channels. EastEnders will love it because it will get a solid slot and won't ever have to clash with Emmerdale, plus its after The One Show, therefore it'll get a massive/consistent lift from that.

Emmerdale will be happy its getting the soap audience from EastEnders, so it'll probably see its figures go up, not necessarily its share though. And Coronation Street will benefit from being in a regular slot all week long.

It's 8.30 a bit late for Corrie? Maybe ITV would prefer Emmerdale at 7, Eastenders at 7.30 and Corrie at 8.00. They'd probably win every week night.

The BBC Press Office labeling that EE episode as 7.30pm might be just a mistake.

Though, I did hear a few months back that ITV were considering rejigging their peaktime schedule for 2009. This involved moving the soaps to 8-9pm, and having News at Seven. I doubt this will happen, but you never know...

The BBC Press office has made this error before, saying Monday's EastEnders is on 7.30 rather than 8.00 so it most likely just a mistake again. I would say don't read too much in to it.

I can't for the life of me see why the BBC would move EastEnders to 7.30 to accommodate an ITV soap hour from 8-9.

It would pretty much wipe out any chance of a successful pre watershed weekday programme (ie, with The One Show and EastEnders from 7-8 there would be no pre-watershed weekday slots available without soap competition). It would also greatly enhance ITV's lead in to their 9pm offerings and would as such damage the BBC's.

They would be loony to agree to move EastEnders and create those problems for themselves. I can't see it happening.

I'll ask for a third time since it seems no one's replied to my two earlier requests.

PLEASE does anyone have the weekly ratings for Little Dorrit's Sunday airings? I really want to see how it does then and how it compares to the weekdays.

Its almost never reported in any of the outlets, presumably because its a repeat. Apparantly it got 2.3m a few weeks back when the F1 finale had 10m+ on ITV.

It dosen't feature on the Barb Top 30 which means its definately below about 4.5m, though I grant you that dosen't help so much either. I can only speculate and guess that it might pull about 3 million or so.


EDIT: I've done some calculations based on the figures back on this thread. Basically, on Sunday 23rd Nov. BBC One got a primetime (which I think is 6pm-10.30pm) share of 29.3%. The shows from 7.15-10.30pm averaged a 30.5% share, meaning from 6.00-7.15 (ie. mostly Little Dorrit), BBC One must have got around a 26% share. That would equate to a reasonably likely audience of around 3.3m, based on the shares of other programmes on at the time.

DISCLAIMER: The above is a bit of educated guesswork plus a good deal of calculator punching - so may be entirely wrong, but does seem fairly feasible.

I've just sat here and worked that out at gone 2am. I really need to get out more...
