I'm guessing a daytime slot - maybe 5pm?
24 and 12 episode runs wouldn't fit though. I'm guessing Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday at 7.30pm.

There are more storytelling elements to it.

24 episodes is a lot, I wonder what they're going to do with it, scheduling wise. It's obviously quite a big decision with the amount of episodes commissioned.
Yeah, it looks like they've got a lot of faith in it, as looking further down the synopsis it says that two series have been made, giving a total of 36 episodes, which is staggering for what will probably be a peaktime show.

If Corrie moves in the Autumn though because of the football, this show will slot in nicely there.

Damn, I missed it being half hour long. Sorry.

They seem to be comissioning a lot for a peak time show, though - bit risky I'd have thought. Thursday 7.30 seems the obvious slot, once Krypton Factor's finished I guess, and it may give ITV the chance to move KF to a less competitive slot next series. Here's hoping.

Apologies if it's been posted anywhere, but I couldn't see it- Minder has been reported as airing on Wednesday 4th February at 9pm. A slot which many people on here guessed it would take. This will provide an excellent schedule aswell with probably the best 8pm lead in of the week with IRT.

Going on the fact it will be a success that will mean soon FIVE will be airing strong rating drama on 5 9pm slots of the week, presuming House will return on Thursdays. This is great for FIVE and I hope even if Minder isn't very good that it gets good ratings, because it will encourage FIVE to produce more homegrown drama.
I think it pull in a large audience for its first episode at least with 4-5m being my estimate though it could do higher as the competition is fairly weak with BBC One airing a WDYTYA repeat, ITV1 are airing Foyle's War repeat and Channel 4 are showing Grand Designs which will do well anyway.

I imagine Minder is the first of many homegrown dramas that will air on the channel. The new controller of Five commioned Hogfather and The Colour of Magic at Sky1 with more on the way in 2009/10.

Minder runs until March which is when House usually returns though I wonder if Five would risk moving House and the US import that follows its at 10pm to Wednesdays as it would benefit from a strong 8pm show like IRT and it would more than capable in drawing a decent audience against The Apprentice.

My guess is that will again turn into an FA Cup replay slot.

I'm expecting CBB to flop (again).

Interesting.... http://www.sundayexpress.co.uk/posts...ssive-shake-up

"TELEVISION is bracing itself for a “seismic shock” which could see or screens going blank at midnight.

Radical new plans designed to bail out cash-strapped ITV, Channel 4 and Five will revolutionise what we watch and how much we watch.

The changes will also have far-reaching implications for quality, standards and funding as ITV struggles to come to terms with falling advertising revenues which have crashed by 20 per cent."

Not sure how much that would save. Most ofthe shows overnight are repeat screenings or old films. Would switching off the trasmitters overnight save much electricity? Not really an option on satellitte

BTW if GMTV is fully integrated into ITV, I would presume they would use the opportunity to revise the morning schedule. The 9.25 start of ITVs day is very out of date. Presumably Jeremy Kyle could start at 9am, This Morning at 10am, with either a 12noon news bulletin or Loose Women, taking ITV up to 1pm.

Hmmm. Sounds similar to something else... Can't quite put my finger on it...

K
Surely they should have called it "big island, small country" as we're more of a small country than we are an island. Britain is the 8th largest Island in the world but only the 79th largest country.

9th actually, but who's counting

But Britain feels like a small island because it is so crowded.

Just as a FYI, GMTV on Tuesday maybe competing against the Australian Open. If I'm correct, Murray's 1st Round match will be on Tuesday Australian time, so it'll be going through the night. Depending on when the match starts, IF it finishes after 17:00 Australian airtime, that means it'll still be going at 06:00 our time.

My guess in that situation would be that BBC bump Breakfast to BBC Two and shift the Australian Open onto BBC One.

BBC Two isn't 'regionalised' in England (on digital at least), so it'd cause some issues. Tennis on BBC Two would make more sense.

^Seems to be a few differences to Emmerdale & Victorian Farm to what other sources have reported.

Emmerdale's viewrship seems the same, just the share is different by 2%.

I would trust Media Guardian and Broadcast for the Victorian Farm rating. DS have got some ratings incorrect over past few weeks.

Sorry, I thought I read DS saying 6.95m.

Hmmm.... DS have been incorrect with quite a few of the soap ratings recently. They overstated the Emmerdale and Corrie ratings earlier in the month, and also Wednesday night's Corrie rating is different to the other sources!

That's what I thought, too. Did it start late or end early?

Hopefully we'll get Friday's and Saturday's reports soon.

I really hope Demons does increase, as it is a brilliant show! I'm hoping that ITV see the potential and gives it a second series.

Demons fell again. Is it ITV's Bonekickers?
