Thanks sonny2001. Total Wipeout and Harry hill did well, as did In It To Win It. Family Fortunes is really struggling. ITV will be glad that it was the last one last night. I don't know why it's done so badly in the last few weeks, it normally gets about 5m without The X Factor.

Demons not doing well over.

Seems like for the time being at least, BBC are doing very well on Saturdays (although that may change with FA Cup next weekend).

On that note, ITV have very little pre/post-match coverage, I originally thought it was on until 19:45, but TV Burp is now on from 19:15 to 19:45.

Bad for Demons, it can't lose any more of its audience because it may not get a second series. But the good thing is that it picks up a healthy audience on the ITV2 repeat.
Total Wipeout is doing very well and TV Burp is doing brilliantly considering its a best of show.

Demons dropped again quite a bit, even with a good HH lead in. In It to Win It is doing very well to top Saturdays reaching 7m.

I think it'll bottom out at around the 4m mark. Surely too low to get recommisioned?

What a huge disappointment for ITV1. I bet they had long term plans for the show, but it's just not been good enough so far.

I agree. One thing we can't blame is the slot.... because that seemed the perfect slot for it. It's not like Britannia High where the slot was beyond dreadful.

The series finishes on February 7th, so I presume Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeway starts from February 14th?

Fortunately for ITV, SNT was firmly in the 6/7m range for last year's series.

Yep, could be as low as 3.5m or so next week. ITV will be glad that there's only 3 left, and can look forward to Takeaway replacing it on February 14th (Primeval's due in March, I think).

My guess is the And and Dec will be six episodes which would take us to March 21st, then Primeval on March 28th....

They were expecting about 4.7 million adults. Including Kids, that's about 5.5m in total.

So it's well underperformed. It's lost a quarter of its audience in two episodes.

ITV will be disappointed about Demons no doubt. I was expecting the series to get better as it went on but last night's episode was a real stinker. I think they were hoping for Primeval type figures because we know there's an audience out there but I suppose if the stories arn't good enough people will just tune out.

I'm not sure if the combined figures from ITV1 and 2 are enough to get it recommisioned. I hope so, because it's a good idea for an early evening show and it makes a nice change from all the reality shows being churned out at the moment.

Ant and Dec and Primeval would do great business on a Saturday for ITV. Looking at the woeful performance of Demons just shows how well Doctor Who does in the low rated Summer months.

Indeed, in fact if it went out now Merlin would have done very well in my opinion.

I said this on another forum but with tweaks Demons could become a good show, but I'm not sure ITV will recommission it.

Do you know the ratings for each episode of Demons so far, so that there is a consecutive run to look at?

I can see Primeval starting a bit earlier than that, as Beat The Star is also starting in Q1. The Colour of Money also needs to fit in somewhere, as does Mumbai Calling (airing at the weekend apparently) and Piers Morgan's chatshow is due in April (although this may take Sunday). BGT and Mr and Mrs are both due in the Spring.

A lot of reports are claiming that BGT begins in May, as opposed to April last year. This would make BGT week take place in June, which would make sense as there is no football this year. It definately won't take place in the same week as it did in 2008 as The Champions League Final is on May 27th this year. This also makes room for Hell's Kitchen and Collision to take place before the end of June in stripped 9pm slots. Will this mean that ITV will have 4 weeks of stripped shows at 9pm (2 weeks of Hell's Kitchen, 1 of Collision and BGT week). Would be interesting.

Not good is it?

I think it got 5.8m for the launch ep, then 4.8m and now 4.2m.

It just feels as though it's been made for 4 year old toddlers.
That's not really a family show.

I presume that they thought that by having teenagers in it that would be enough in itself to secure the teenage demographic, and that the presence of Philip Glenister in itself would be enough to pull in the older viewers.

But there's nothing to do it.
"Let's copy Buffy the Vampire Slayer,...and hope that nobody notices. Male eyecandy will be better for reeling in them female viewers than a female lead,...right?"

Then just dress guest actors up in pantomime costumes and latex make-up effects.

The synopsis for every episode is......there's these demons and monsters right? And they just have to go and kill them.That's it basically. Just have the main characters mooching around for 50 minutes uttering tediously predictable cliches until the last ten minutes where they have a showdown with the baddie.

But what about a story? What about these demons, what's their point? Is there a strong backstory to them to intrigue us and draw us in?
Nah, you don't have to worry about actually writing a good story, we've got all the demographic boxes ticked to get the ratings. No point making it all complicated with some fancy concept of a story. Hell no.

It's just very dull, empty tat.

I think it might be an idea for Demons and TV Burp to swap slots. At least then the rest of the evening (post 8.40pm) has a chance, especially with The Feelgood Factor on January 31st.

No it doesn't look great.

I'm not sure how far a show can fall though.
I think with such a large drop from episode one then maybe it's just bottomed out right now and might not go much lower.
So maybe it might just get the same next week. Maybe a couple of hundred thousand higher or lower each way.

Mind you last night's episode was outstandingly dull wasn't it?
I'm not sure how much, or for how long, the average viewer will be able to tolerate watching the characters plod around for 50 minutes and be forced to wait until the last ten minutes before the story comes to it's exciting climax.
