Why are there discrepancies in the ratings as reported from the various sites? Don't they get the information from the same source?

My bad. I thought Broadcast wrote BBC4, but just realised they said that it had "previously aired on BBC4" .

Good to see The Big Bang Theory holding up so well and Two and a Half Men has been doing well this series (helped just now by the absence of DWTS). But that's a really bad hit for GG, by far the lowest of the series and it seems to have been shedding viewers for a while now, despite a promising start to series 2. Mondays are one of the more competitive days for all the networks...

CBS comedies block, which is the most watched on US TV and CSI: Miami
NBC with Heroes and Chuck, though both are ailing just like the network.
ABC and Dancing With The Stars
FOX's big ling-up of House and 24
The CW's hits Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill

Just to clarify the US ratings posted on the previous page, at 2030 on CBS it was "How I Met Your Mother", not a second episode of "The Big Bang Theory".

The comedy block plus CSI:Miami is similar to the Must See TV block NBC had with the likes of Seinfeld, Friends, Will & Grace followed by ER. The single camera comedies on NBC may be critical darlings but they don't pull in the viewers.

I do wonder whether The CW narrow demographic of women 18-34 is hurting them, the fact that the highest rated shows are Smallville followed by Supernatural proves that it isn't working well.

CNN is touting 1.5bn for the inaugaration, going on that my calculations say a fair few should/ would have been Brits.

ITV1 is becoming a force to be reckoned with in the Monday 9pm slot now. Fair play to them...
Yep, when it comes to losing viewers between episodes, you can't beat a 9pm Monday night drama on ITV1. Quite a pedigree now for that, and a force to be reckoned with indeed. Should hold on to about 4.5m next week....

Surprised Hunter didn't hold up better, but perhaps viewers are getting bored of the detective/serial killer/missing children thing now?

Second half of Hunter was just so much better than the first. I can understand why so many gave up.

Its pretty clear Hunter and Unforgiven really appealled to the same demographics and hurt eachother in the ratings. I'm surprised by how low both of them fell, and it might put off both channels from further clashes of similar dramas.

The interesting Million Dollar Traders hasn't caught on on BBC Two and Five seemed to struggle - falling well short of the 1 million target for much of primetime. Channel 4 had a decent night - though its a sign of the times that CBB is no longer the lynchpin around which the rest of the schedule is based, but is instead shifted around itself to accomodate the cookery programmes.

Corrie seemed to see a big fall between its first and second episodes. We're used to a fall, though 1.2 million seems like a lot - and EastEnders seemed to rate quite poorly for a monday at this time of year too.

Jesus...

BBC1's live coverage of the inauguaration of Barack Obama as the USA's 44th president was a massive hit with viewers as the afternoon coverage of the ceremony peaked at 5.15pm with an audience of 7m (40.1%).
http://www.broadcastnow.co.uk/news/2...ent_obama.html

I expected something good - but that is amazing for 5pm.

Next week the final part of Unforgiven is up against Traffic Cops. Do you think its ratings will go back up to 7 million

That is an incredible figure for that time of day!!!

And Big Chef Takes on Little Chef was a huge success for Channel 4 last night.

Channel 4 Sales reported that Big Chef Takes On Little Chef getting 4.09 million but Big Brother afterwards only got 2.64 million.

It did get 10.2m. That's what Media Guardian reported it as.

DS have been getting the soap ratings (and other ratings) incorrect a lot recently.

Did Monday's Celebrity Big Brother at 8pm (first show) really only get 1.7m?
Has any BB show ever been that low before?

Shocking rating for Trinny and Susannah ! Surely they'll now get axed by ITV.

Also, doesn't look like the GMTV revamp has helped it get any closer to Breakfast.

Too Posh to Pay: 2.4m (10%)
News at Ten: 1.9m (9%)

This is what ITV from 8pm till 10:45pm rated.
I don't know what ITV were expecting from this shambles...but I've never seen ratings as low as this across two hours from 8pm till nearly 11pm.

The primetime share must have been around 13%?
As Emmerdale must have got around a 29% share.

ITV rated so poorly last night. T&S reached new lows I think, and TPTP doing badly as well. without Emmerdale, last night would have been a total disaster for ITV1.

Fantastic to see Channel 4 and Five becoming the top two yesterday at 9pm, though I thought CSI would hold onto a bit more. I don't think C4 and Five have occupied 1 and 2 ever before .

Five was second last week with CSI beaten only by BBC One. I expect they'll be second or third next week as the only real competition is Crimewatch and possibly Gok Wan: Too Fat Too Young.

The Inaugaration of Obama did much better than I expected and a very wise decision by the BBC as it boosted the 6pm News. Channel 4 Food season is doing well so far and with Jamie, Hugh and Gordon's shows still to come, I can see Channel 4 hitting 3-4m in the weekday slots.
