They couldn't even wipe off the rain drops from the camera lense. Poor quality, poor host and pundits, adverts... another 3 years of this .
Rain - if it falls persistently the options are limited.

Even the BBC cant make the rain stop falling you know.

You can wipe the lense and then 15 seconds later, you have to wipe it again.

You can try to position the cameras on the other side of the station, but that would involve using a cherry picker and would result in shakier pictures due to the wind.

Nothing wrong with Steve Rider either. Professional presenter with a journalistic background. Gets the job done without it all being smart assed comments & look at me style of certain other hosts.

And ads on ITV, really!!

IIRC, the same happened in Brazil with the F1 last month after the race, the ITV guys kept having to wipe the camera every 15 seconds, as the paddock area was turning into a rain deluge!

OT: What do you guys think of this? It's not made by the BBC, it's a mockup of what he thinks the intro will look like next year. It looks real!!

Talking of ITV talent potentially swapping channels, I see that for a second week in a row, Al Murray is fronting another Friday night BBC1 show - this time, Live at the Apollo.

George - you'd better have a lie-down...
I have and its good to see ITVs finest helping out the BBCs threadbare comedy schedules. But rest assured Al will be with ITV for a long time yet.

Britannia High 2m????

Oh dear. It looks like ITV have found the worthy successor to 'Celebrity Wrestling'.

There's a naughty part of me that's willing it on to drop to sub 2m ratings.

2m?
The weather was really cold too, it was freezing outside. So for BH to hit a low of 2m for ITV that's quite some achievement.

thats a good set of times for EE - I like the way they split them up. EE should pull in more viewers by doing so.

It must have flopped on ITV2 as well- they cancelled last Mondays episode and showed a film, and have cancelled this Mondays episode too- instead of BH they've brought forward Dantes Peak and replaced it with Kids do the funniest things

Are ITV going to bother tipping money into the finale of BH? Celebrity Wrestling's lowest rating in primetime was 2.56M and that was on in warmer weather and was directly against Doctor Who.

LMAO at Brittania High's rating. I bet ITV were expecting it to be the UK's answer to high school musical, with the kiddies tuning in in their millions. They had arranged for them to perform at the NTA's a week after premiering and I bet they had a tour planned and merchandise. It didn't take off though for a few reasons including excessive but bad promotion, badly written and unimaginative songs and cheap production values as exposed on Harry Hill.

Just saw it on Youtube : http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=vwwywcM_sdQ

Shocking coverage by ITV by the looks of it. Look at those graphics... looks like it's made by some school Graphics student. They couldn't even wipe off the rain drops from the camera lense. Poor quality, poor host and pundits, adverts... another 3 years of this .
LMAO!

This went out on TV? Cool!

I read a press report on the weekend that it was launched. ITV had a CD, DVD and tour planned, as well as the chance of a movie tie-in, but it all depended on how well the ratings did. ITV hoped for 6-8 million, with an average of 6m.

As it is only averaging 2.5 million, most of the promotional ideas will be dropped. I have seen a CD and DVD in the shops, but then this might be contractual or simply a way for ITV to claw back some of the money they have spent on this turkey.

ITV2 couldnt afford Britannia High even if people liked it. Must cost a bomb.

ITV2's budget isnt high enough.

Ouch!

If they wanted that many viewers they should have scheduled it better (Saturdays, inbetween the x factor and the x factor results) and put more effort into it.

When the first episode aired, I told my sister to check it out since she was a high school musical fan till they started milking it for all it was worth.

Within minutes she said "this is crap, high school musical is much better" and turned over.

It's embarrasingly bad.

I saw a clip where the guy from the bank adverts uses some cheesey cliche about being who you want to be or something like that and I just cringed.

He's just like Jim Rosenthal, professional, competent and dull as ditch water.

Spot on! Why put it on a Sunday early evening, when it has Saturday teatime (or as you say, between the X-Factor) written all over it? A bad scheduling idea that has killed another ITV show.

I'm not surprised this is flopping. ITV wanted to cash in on high School Musical, and made this awful copy. They underestimated their younger viewers, and thought flashy colours and songs could make this show a success. The dialogue is awful, songs even worse, the show is just badly made, but could have been a huge success if done properly. It's just another case of ITV taking the p*ss and speaking down to their audience, assuming they'll watch anything.

I'm 28, and even I liked High School Musical. It was what i expected, made for teenagers and young kids, but there was something endeering about the cast. BH makes High School Musical look like Ben-Hur!
