Could that be the peak share?

The peak share for show 1 was 49%, while show 2 was 53%. He was probably exaggerating ! Or maybe took the repeat showings into account, which would give the show a reach of nearly 15m.

The real rating will come next week, when there hasn't been a chance to preview it on BBC3. I think there was about a million BBC3 viewers last week?

Apparently it is being shown a day sooner on BBC1 Scotland, so Sky Digital viewers around the UK will be able to catch it a little earlier on that if they want.

After all those Xmas Day predictions, hardly anyone guessed that EE would be at 9pm.

Doesent The Royle Family command a post watershed slot and therefore would be ideally suited for the 9pm slot. Indsead I guess it will end at 10.30.

I'm actually quite surprised that the BBC didn't replicate last year's winning formula of EE-DW-EE-SCD-comedy.

Do the BBC and ITV take it in turns every year for the first pick (and this year ITV has first pick)? If not, surely the BBC would have schedule EastEnders directly after Doctor Who.

Christmas day is different to most days, viewers are awake till later, not having work the next day.

Even if they didn't air it till 11 it would still get a good few million if people wanted to see it enough.

I was almost sure it would go like that, but as I said before they do change every year quite a bit.

A bit of a surprise that ITV aren't showing the Man Utd game, I must say.

I think the changes might be due to a first-pick system.

The BBC's schedule for Xmas Day is almost identical to the 2006 one, which went:

6.30 EE
7.00 DW
8.00 SCD
9.00 EE
9.30 VoD (comedy)

I'm surprised at that to be honest.

I can't see that getting above 5m.

IAC did well for ITV1 though it was slightly down which I guess was to the earlier start time. Spooks did well for BBC one while BBC Two and Channel 4 were on par with last week and the 60s documentary on Five did okay as well.
