Dti6300 Hard Drive
I replaced the 160g hard drive in my spare DTI6300 today as the other one was causing crashing problems.
It is great to see that the annoying TUTV banners etc are no longer present --- I can get them back by doing a rescan, according to a box that came up, but why bother as I don't subscribe. The box appears to respond instantly to remote commands --- this could be because it now has a different hard drive of course. If someone has a hard drive fitted that you wouldn't mind reformatting then do it -- the box will be different. I may put the old hard drive back in mine and reformat it to see if that was causing me problems. I have done all the caps in the power supply which didn't cure the problem. Just for your information...... Regards |

At some point during their long series of software updates TUTV changed the format of the HDD to improve performance and stability. However, the new software could still use the original format (for those who did not want to lose recordings). If your original HDD had never been reformatted this could explain the problem and the solution.

Thanks for the reply --- the original hard drive has not been reformatted as there are a couple of recordings saved on it.
Since fitting the new drive the box hasn't failed to do everything I have asked of it. Regards |
