I like Brendan's choreography. He's usually understated & classy bacofoil nightmare apart.

[QUO TE=Becky245;69296912]Is it just me or is Brendan's choreograph always so excellent? The dances he choreographs always showcase the celebrity but also have that umph element. I really really like his choreography, it's always the dance I remember the most.[/quote]

It's some of the choreography they have in competitions. I have suspected for a long time that Brendan studies the videos that competition champions like the Hiltons put out - and maybe goes to them for lessons. His foxtrot is particularly good - when he has a partner that can do it, like Lisa Snowdon and now Sophie Ellis-Bextor

The thing I like about Brendan is the way he showcases the celeb, while playing a secondary role, albeit a brilliant secondary role. He never overshadows his partner, unlike some of the other pros. I'm thinking of Ola and Christina, who both jump and twirl around energetically, distracting us from their partners, grabbing all the air time.

Brendan seems to have matured into a very professional, supportive dancing partner whose choreography is sublime. Understated but chic.

If only Anton showed the willingness to learn...

I think Brendan is a great choreographer, but he's not always been the best judge of the way to get the best from his celeb.

As a pro dancer on the show, he's one of the best and I hope he stays for a good while yet.

I'd love to see him win a second glitter ball.

I like Brendan but I find some of his moves quite samey and cheesy... Particularly when he does his slightly bent at the waist and clicky finger moves. I don't think he's the best dancer... Lovely bloke though

Me too. I like Brendan anyway but love him and Sophie this year. I didn't expect to so it has been a lovely surprise. Saturday's foxtrot made her my current favourite though I am fickle so it might change

Yes, he's a good choreographer. I don't think I've ever thought at the end of one of his dances, "Well, it was good but what the hell WAS it?"

Unlike......some others. Nearly everyone actually. Much as Ian Waite is loved he DID give Penny Lancaster that awful jive (see, I can't even remember what it was!) with her just prancing round in high boots. Artem's all very artistic and show-dancey but I'm not a fan of his choreography.

Brendan's good.

Sophie is a good student for Brendan to show what he can do but she is in the 'cool' category and Brendan isn't very demonstrative, so the dances will have to bring something more lively in terms of choreography.
The Foxtrot was very competent but slow and its going to take something more like the Charleston in the later stages to win it.

Nice to see him have a chance this year.

His showdance with Lisa was awful but usually they are really good.

I think he choreogrpahs well when he has good celeb dancers (as is the case with most of the Pros). The better the celeb the the more you can structure a dance in glorius fashion because you want to show more content of ability (and performance aspect too if they can excel there as well) which a good celeb will allow for. I know you can sometimes create good works with lesser quality tools, but more often very good tools (if not even better) will provide a maker better results.

But, on the plus side, Bacofoil was one of the GREAT SCD moments. TRULY GREAT.

To be fair to him it's exactly the sort of (horrid) routine that the show's token showdancers always demonstrate the preceding week. It's just unfortunate that Lisa S was quite so statuesque. It may have worked with a petite female in a better outfit. Maybe. That lift might just have been OK to good.

This is where Brendan's choreography comes from. Of course these are professionals in the top 6 of the UK and we can hardly expect to see that in SCD. Brendan comes the closest to this when he has a good enough partner, like Lisa Snowdon or Sophie Ellis-Bextor. What a pity he didn't get Denise Van Outen for a partner - that would have been awesome.

These clips are very old now, but they were the last championships to be filmed for TV. I don't suppose it will happen again.

I like Brendan's choreography BUT I have never quite forgiven him for putting 98% into the ballroom dance (think it was waltz) with Lisa & 2% into the Latin to ensure a dance off win if it happened, which it did. I always felt that was really rather cynical of him, & got him nowhere in the long run.

And maybe Brendan would never quite have forgiven himself if he hadn't done that and they were eliminated?

I think the answer is for them to dance their lowest scoring dance in the dance-off.

We had couples chucked out of the 2012 Olympics badminton for playing to lose to give themselves an easier path to the final. It wasn't their fault, but a badly organised tournament.

Yes I agree I think that was a fault of the two dance system in the dance off. The thing was we would never really have known if Brendan hadn't actually said on ITT that was his plan !!
