Should Natalie be judged to the same standard as the other contestants?

I honestly don't think so. Natalie should be getting 10s already, and if she were to get 10s for the rest of the series it would just be incredibly boring. So I do agree with Len. It's not fair to judge her on the same level as the celebs who are still improving, because to be honest, come the end of the show, she will still have been better than the final contestants, and will have been from the beginning... there's no growth. No disrespect to Natalie, she's an amazing dancer, but I don't think she should have been asked to do the show. It's like watching two professionals... and that's the problem.

Another Natalie bashing thread! Yawn.

Yes, she's not the only one to have had dance lessons as a teenager. Every year Strictly has a mix of contestants and every year there are people who have had some dance training (DVO, Jill Halfpenny, Emma Bunton, Kimberley Walsh, Alesha Dixon to name just a few).

Perhaps she should have here legs tied together. The show requires good and bad Dancers imo and she is brilliant.

I am in no way bashing her. If I were bashing her I would be saying it's her fault she's so good and it's a disgrace she's so good. I'm simply saying that while she's on the show she should be judged to a higher standard because if she's judged to the standard of the other celebs she will receive straight 10s for the next 2 months.

I do think she is good....but not amazing. She still has room to improve and is not at 10 level yet

I'd argue she IS being judged to a higher standard albeit within the framework of the 1 - 10 paddles. If any other dancer had pulled off the dance Natalie did tonight they would have had at least 3 10s, week four or no.

Yes, now that was appalling judging.

Agree! It's Kristina who does all the 'work'!

They use different criteria for different celebs, it's so obvious that they are far more lenient with some than with others. Probably because they want to keep certain ones in.

I hate this british disease of trying to pull down someone who is good to the low level of everyone else. In any other country they would be proud of her. She is not breaking any rules so just try to enjoy some good dancing amongst all the dross.

It's an irrelevant question. Natalie is being judged the same as every other contestant.

Agree only in this country.

She and Artem should be manacled together.

Let's see her quickstep her way out of that.

Should a 25 year old be judged more harshly than a 60 year old? It has never been an equal competition - it's just a reality TV show.

Now there's an idea tie one of her legs to one of Artem's and they can do the three legged jive next week.

as with so many actors on SCD she has had basic tap etc but never ballroom

The real problem for this series is the distance in sheer talent between her and the rest as she has the lot in latin and ballroom and a joy to watch

If there is a distant threat it is the unique character in dance of Brendan and Sophie in particular the so individual one off style of Sophie

TBH I suspect Natalie may never get a 10 from Craig in a Latin dance as she clearly has limits on hip movement. So as such will always be on the back foot. Couple this with Len's dislike of Artem's choreography and you have a decent handicap.

Anton already beat them to a three-legged dance a couple of weeks ago...

For the love of God, don't remind me. My therapy bill is big enough already.

All on his own too which is even more impressive.

I agree with this, given all the overmarking that is going on, anybody else producing such good dances in the last 2 weeks would have already seen a few 10s.

I don't think she should be there. It's not her fault, but she should never have been asked in the first place...
