Oh ffs, how hard is it to get a blooming dance right? From the BBC, it looks like virtually impossible.

logically it should be the samba otherwise there'll be 3 salsas but no samba on the nite

they have a tough act to follow - Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas did a brill ccc to the same song in DWTS (can't imagine Brendan doing MJ moves somehow)

Agree. Cannot see Sophie straightening her legs the way Shawn managed for that dance.

You would have to change the phrasing of the song/melody and it can't always be done effectively. The usual way is to stretch the phrasing.

Steeleye Span recorded The Hard Times of Old England as a 4/4 when the original is in 3/4, the resulting sound was like a Status Quo song

USELESS STATISTIC for you all - the only Ten Dance not being represented this week is the Tango, although for the previous two weeks all of them were represented.

Also no Charleston and no AT yet, which means that they (at least the Charleston) will be probably be very present on Halloween week.

Can also see a few tango's and salsa's coming next week (none of the main contenders has danced the salsa yet, could be Susanna based on this week's dancestyle).

AT is the only dance we've yet to see at all (barring stuff like showdance and fusion), so I've got a feeling they've reverted to at least holding it back until the business end of the competition.

Because it rarely looks good early. Hopefully, it means they're holding it back for semi final/final. Plus there's no Vincent/Flavia to make it look amazing now so I wonder if they'll drop it altogether.

Never understood how you could do VW before waltz or AT before tango.

The earliest AT has ever been done on a non-theme week is week 7. I guess they could have wangled it into Love Week if they'd really tried.

I thought I read somewhere that V and F are still doing a demo of the AT at some point? Perhaps they are holding back the celebs attempting it until then, pleased if that's the case as only the business half should do it.

Colin Salmon did it for Hollywood Week last year (Kristina got up on a table and made finger guns because he WAS JAMES BOND) in wk 3, and Matt (vampires, duh) and Tiny Tina (Slutty Sandy playsuit for ages 8-12) did it in Hallowe'en Week in series 8, which was week 5.

When AT got moved out of semi-finals-only it first appeared in Halloween week, neither of which went particularly well and was probably one of the big reasons that Tina went out so early (apart from the fact that Jared was worse than some of the celebs, of course); the following year it didn't appear until week 7, and after Colin & Kristina's week 3 attempt last year (which was kind of inevitable what with it being Hollywood week and the producers pushing him as a big Hollywood James Bond megastar) it didn't appear again until week 8. So I suspect we won't see it until around that time this year too.

Which is why I put "yet" behind AT (and not Charleston)

And if that is wrong, well I am only a foreigner
