McDonalds Promotional Items Thread
Well it is now October and it does not look like the Coke glasses are going to return this year.
![]() McDonald's regularly release limited edition items these follow and this is a thread to discuss the current ones and all that. Reviews etc. Here are there current range of Limited Edition's: Burger - "1955" (Inspired by the 50s, served today with 100% beef, bacon, fresh lettuce, tomatoes, caramelised onions, seasoned ketchup and our special smoky sauce.) Chicken - "BCO" (I thought this had gone but is still listed) (Succulent chicken breast fillet in a crispy coating served with bacon, crispy onions, shredded lettuce and a slice of black pepper cheese all served with a seasoned mayo sauce in a sesame seed topped bun.) "Mixed Chicken Sharebox" (With 24 Spicy Chicken McBites and 10 Chicken McNuggets, the ShareBox is perfect for families and friends to get sharing. Served with a choice of 2 dips.) Sides - "Mozzarella Dippers" (3 sticks of mozzarella cheese coated in breadcrumbs and served with a salsa dip.) "Potato Wedges" (Potato wedges served with a sour cream & chive dip.) Little Tasters - "Garlic & Herb Chicken Snack Wrap" (One of our Chicken Selects with shredded lettuce, cheese and a garlic and herb sauce wrapped in a soft tortilla.) "Spicy Chicken McBites" (Spicy Chicken McBites are made with chicken breast meat, in a light, crispy golden-brown coating with a spicy flavour.) McFlurry - "Mississippi Mud Pie" (A delicious twist on the classic dessert from the Deep South. Soft dairy ice cream swirled with chocolate coated biscuit pieces, cookie crumble and rich, dark chocolate sauce.) Anyone tried any of them? |

I had the 1955 burger in Spain so presume it's the same. Was pretty good but not that different from their other burgers.

I went to McDonald's today and tried the "1955" burger it was £5 something but for an extra 40p you could swap Fries for "Potato Wedges" so I did that, it came with a Sour Cream & Chive dip and 4 French Fries which I got free for some reason . The drink I had was Coca Cola although I sometimes have Irn Bru. It tasted brilliant and I really enjoyed it I don't normally eat their limited edition stuff except McFlurry and it was nice and BBQ like, Yum. The wedges were OK but I am normally keen on them. The medium meal with wedges came to I think £5.79.Quote:

They also have patisserie's in the place too. |

They aren't fancy, and they have got the touch screens virtually everywhere else in Europe. lord only knows why you want to buy macaroons etc from the mccafe, especially in Paris! Total foolishness. I've noticed they stopped doing the chocolate donuts or any donuts over here now, shame really as they were quite nice.

I tried the 1955 burger. I'm a fan of the Big Mac and the Quarter Pounder with Cheese but the 1955 disappointed me rather. The caramelised onions were stone cold (I think they're supposed to be like that) which wasn't nice. To me, either give me cold raw onion or wam cooked onion, not cold cooked onion, so that was upsetting.
It also tasted rather bland and under-seasoned to me. The un-seasoned fresh tomato and lettuce didn't help - just sort of blanded it out. I had to add a sprinkling of salt inside it to improve the flavour. So a thumbs down from me overall I'm afraid. |

I went last Wednesday (the first day of the promotion) to have a 1955 burger. I ordered at the drive through, paid at the window and drove to the next window only for the manager to say they couldn't do my burger as the grill they use to cook them was broken, but I could still have a big Mac or quarter pounder
and the difference refunded.I ordered a quarter and the girl gave me the full £5.60 back so I was happy in the end

I wish they would keep the onion rings as a permanent fixture I do love these when they are on.
As for this promotion the burgers look rubbish. The Mcflurry looks good as do the chicken bites, I like these so the spicy ones should be fun. I love the wedges as well |

I guess...? I'm 99% that the caramelised oniuons are supposed to be cold, though, and that was the main gripe. I won't be buying another one anyway! I'll stick to the classics (unless the McRib makes an appearance!)

Not really a fan of the 1955 burger.
It reminded me of the Big Tasty. The sauce on that was also a bit strange. And as with other burgers bigger than the quarter Pounder they to tend to be dry. |
