Disabled iphone due to wrong pass code
Ok so I was putting my passcode in and I was abit bored so I kept entering the wrong code, pressing really fast to see if it would let me in. It didn't and it disabled the phone(didn't know it did this) oh crap, I wish I didn't do that now lol
![]() So I restarted the phone thinking this is probably not going to work, if it did what's the point in the phone disabling? Guess what? It did work, after resetting it just went back to the normal lock screen where I could enter my pass code (or have another crack if I was a thief) So what is the point of the phone disabling if you can just restart to get another go? I would have thought you'd have to connect it to the PC where the phone was last synced to or something? P.s I'm on the latest IOS 7 |

P.s I'm on the latest IOS 7 This actually takes hours, as the gap between allowing you to enter the passcode increases with each failed attempt. |

I was randomly tapping away, and it came up with "iphone disabled" within about 10seconds (I was pressing quickly)
So it took seconds to automatically disable it, not hours? |

Point is you weren't able to access ithe phone randomly and it takes a lot more failed attempts than that to actually "disable" it. Who would want their iPhone disabled after incorrectly entering their passcode? Happens all the time. |

It disables the phone for a minute after 10 incorrect passcode entries, increasing in time every 10 attempts until it will tell you to connect to iTunes I believe.

You can also set it to totally erase the phone after too many incorrect passcode attempts.
