I know the association is tenuous and I know it's a bit cruel, but for some reason Julien MacDonald reminds me of ...

there's something creepy about the smile ...

I didn't like him at the start, liked him a lot more this week though so I was sad to see him go.

He was the right choice to go, dont dislike him as a person but his ott loudness didnt endear him to many and probably explained his three time appearances in the dance off despite the undoubted effort he put in.

The week after he'd stunned the judges into silence, he toned it down a bit. This week he was just the same as before.
Was a bit naff how he he didn't mention Janette in his farewell speech until the mic was over to her first. He didn't have to stick his tongue down her throat, he only had to acknowledge her contribution to it all in a human way rather than shouting her name like a circus ringmaster.
I sometimes wondered if the man lives on a diet of cocaine and rice crispies.

I was convinced Julien Macdonald was being groomed for a presenter role. The poor fellow clearly has little public support and he might even lose his "Flying Godet" slot on ITT.

He seemed much nicer as a performer than the prat he was on ITT.

Or maybe it is me and I do not have the slightest interest in fashion - other than as a shareholder as it clearly is big business.

From the first moment his maddening and screeching antics hit the screen he immediately went to the deepest part of any likeability for me...and proceeded to sink to even greater depths each week. Do I miss him? No, No and NO again. I will not miss the inane grinning and self obsessed belief of his own importance, those over whitened teeth and the permanent gurning grin. The programme has improved immeasurably since he was booted off. I can only hope he learns from this experience. However I am afraid I don't think that will happen. Three weeks, three dance offs has to tell you something.

In Fairness to Julien he always gave it a real go with plenty of attack

In detriment to Julien he made zero attempt to sort out his control and timing issues

This week I thaught that Julian was not the worse dancer Dave, Fiona, and Deborah were much worse, but the public decided to send Julian home so be it.

They are both pants at dancing, but Rachel is younger and better looking.

The idea that Rachel has more 'natural ability' is laughable, neither of them has any sense of rythym or musicality, neither is able to exert any real control over their bodies and neither has any idea what they really look like in motion.

I actually thought Julien had a better grasp of his routine but I have no real opinion on either of them as people. I find it funny that folk assume Rachel has some secret talent that Pasha can unlock with the right key, (dance), just because she is young, pretty and in good shape.

Julien had got a lot better but he was still bad enough to go out. Poor Janette could never rely on him being where he was supposed to be and that made her look bad as she struggled to get him on track.

Vanilla is underrated.

Prefer? No. But he had stepped up his game to the point where his timing was quite a lot better. It was a dance, not the equivalent of Tracy Emin's bed.

How funny. I clicked onto this thread to float exactly the same idea. I too was wondering if Julien's appearance on SCD was a way of testing out his TV persona with a view to featuring him in some future show about the fashion industry or similar. The casting on Strictly would be a good overture to see if he captured the public imagination and enhance his stardom before making him centre of a show.

Not the first time we have thought alike Henry,
