Katy was brilliant.
Her live vocals are usually subpar at best usually. But her performance tonight was terrific. I was pleasantly shocked.

Really? I thought she was shit. She's always terrible live, her voice is average at best. Mind you that didn't do Kylie or Madonna or Britney any harm I suppose.

She is a good performer not a good singer.

Backing track was rather loud during the chorus.

very loud backing track. Thought the prism era was supposed to do away with the cartoon image and she is dressed as a cartoon. Tony the tiger, even said grrrreat! :/

She wasn't quite as bad as she's been sometimes... That's not saying much though. Her live vocals aren't really her 'strength'.

sub standard vocals as usual, not a good singer at all, probably thanks her lucky stars she hasn't got to go through this kinda process to gain success

The backing track drowned her out. Only reason the chorus sounded half way decent.

She never had a good voice but in the end of the day she has mass appeal in the pop world and is known as a pop princess. But talent-wise, she is pretty dire

she wasn't as bad as when she performed Firework - that was dire. Methinks a good backing track tonight

She certainly doesn't "roar" without the heavy production of a studio. Still hot though.

I think she's an awful singer. Loved her outfit, especially the ears.

She's a great pop star; knows who to work with and comes out with frequently great pop tunes; but the chink in her pop armour is her live vocals.
Whilst that was better than her singing Firework on XF a couple of years ago, that was less than good vocally; and half a dozen of the acts on Saturday sung better than her vocals tonight. |

Madonna, Kylie and Britney at least have distinctive voices, you'd know them anywhere. Katy seems very nice but her voice doesn't seem to have any distinctive character, it seems very generic, I guess she must have a lot of good catchy pop songs in her repetoire.

I think she's good at what she does and she performs well. she put on a show - granted her vocals weren't amazing but she in herself is captivating and the performance was ggrrrreat.

Which show were you watching?
Brilliant is a massive overstatement, maybe adequate would be more appropriate.

I really enjoyed it! And also Robin Thicke's performance! First time in ages I've enjoyed both guest performances so much
