... why is there a need for Jim and John-Paul to continue the pretence that Myra is dead? In fact, why does Myra — and even Jacqui, for that matter — need to stay in hiding at all?

Trevor is still around though. There's also the chance Fraser will blame Mercedes for Claire's death.

Do they even know Mercedes was fighting with Clare at the time? I thought only Browning knew — and he's toast.

I still don't get why Myra and Jacqui are in hiding in the first place. The McQueens aren't idiots. Surely they'd expect Trevor to come after the family regardless?

I thought with Jacqui it made sense, as his beef was solely with her. But with Myra, not so much. He had beef with her and the entire family. And why didn't Jim just blackmail Fraser with the incriminating file in order to get Trevor off of their backs and save them from going to all that pretence of faking her death? Browning could have been dealt with in a different manor, too.

Browning should have had no part in Myra's exit unless he actually killed her. Confusing Trevor in it was so unnecessary.

Myras exit not only made absolutely zero sense regardless of who featured in the story but it was so so out of character for her and goes against everything she's ever been shown to be.

I know. She'd never desert her family and let them think she's dead.
