Anyone know where Dave and Karen were on Sat night? They weren't in any of the background shots behind Tess (all night!) and when Bruce introduced them, they weren't shown at the top of the stairs. Surely they weren't practising all night?!!

Either they were practising their routine or Dave was in the make-up room to complete his grooming. Or even both! I also noticed they were missing.

Dave's a bit like a bouncy Labrador puppy and I bet he loves being in the Tesspit but would feed of the energy and start bouncing around. Maybe Karen wanted to keep him calm and centred for the waltz and so they stayed out of the way.

I have had another look and as far as I could see they weren't in the Tesspit when Susannah danced, after they did.

Even if they had been practising somewhere, still can't understand why they were the only couple not up in the Tesspit when Bruce introduced them. Very strange!

It was strange but then I thought that maybe they had done something to Dave and wanted to keep us all on tenterhooks for a minute longer before the surprise reveal. Their VT implied the idea of Dave getting a special makeover so it was a lead on from that.
