usb to HDR -1000s

hello everyone

im thinking of getting above .... does anyone know if you can copy files from a memory stick to your HDR-1000s hard drive
so you can build your own library on your box

Yes Video, Photographs (jpeg) and Audio (MP3)

I thought you couldn't copy anything to or from the hdd on the new boxes?

And this is the freesat box were talking about, even though were in the terrestrial section?

You can copy your own files to and from the HDR1000/1010s hard drive. You can't copy recordings off the box, but that wasn't what the OP asked.

No, for some odd reason I thought you couldn't copy any avi, mkv's etc to the onboard disk and that you had to watch all third party stuff via usb.

Glad to hear that you can do so though, and it's another plus point for Freetime over the draconian Youview system.

Be aware that the video files it can play are limited in comparison to a dedicated media server. There are also posts about the number of jpegs it can handle being very limited.
