To be fair Savile hasnt really done anything wrong, his comment -if true -was smutty hardly illegal. Why was he in A&E? Didn't he "walk the wards" hanging around accident victims doesn't really fit his M.O. really. Is there anyone who didnt get abused by Savile or at least think he was shady, didnt Terry Wogan pipe up last week blaming others for not reporting him?

I don't see why she's getting flak for putting the incident in her autobiography. What's wrong with her mentioning it?
At this stage, long after the extent of Savile's depravity has (finally) become public knowledge, her mentioning it in a 'for profit' context looks a bit cheap and unnecessary.

It's the literary equivalent of joining a long-running forum thread just to add "Me too!"

One could be forgiven for thinking that Holden's motivation is to ride the coat tails of Savile's other victims all the way to the cash register.

Even if she had, no one would have paid any attention. At the time Savile had the ear of Royalty and politicians, and the word of a 19 year old nobody (as she was then) would have counted for nothing.

I appreciate that, but she does say that everybody knew about the Savile rumours, and specifically questions why nobody acted. The hypocrisy is in then going on to discuss being assaulted and not doing anything about that.
I assume she means those people (not victims) in positions of power and influence who did nothing. It can be extremely difficult for victims to report this.

Can we really trust the word of that vile woman?

Especially after using and abusing Les Dennis to further her career.

Haha, its a none story by a no mark looking to cash in on some fame. I bet she has been "hurt and eternally wounded" by his coming onto her. I wonder if she is seeking counseling to help her get over her "tragic event"

Gosh, so many bad things seem to have happened to plucky little Amanda, don't they?

Isn't it lucky, then, that she has a book coming out so she can tell us all about it?

Indeed. It's just so obvious at this stage.

How convenient she has a Savile anecdote to slot into her forthcoming book.

ROFLMAO - I think we have to wait until her next book for the JS expose, so don't think for one moment we have got away with it!

I bet Sinitta (14) is livid about this. She's missed the boat on this one unless she comes up with the story of "How I aborted Jimmy Savile's child".

So when Amanda Holden says stuff it's all lies, but when a person on the street says something it is all fact. Why does no one believe her yet they believe the ones who have accused Savile who aren't famous?

And just so you know, I am not saying anyone is lying.

I don't think anybody is saying she is actually lying, but the more this story does the rounds, the more it is being embellished, i.e. using words such as he tried to 'seduce' her.

I certainly wouldn't put her description of what happened beyond Savile, especially given what we know now - but she is only using it to flog her book, not for the greater good of other alleged victims.

Folk start having more than their fair share of 'Ulrika Jonsson moments' when there is a book to sell.

Offering to give her a gyneacological problem is hardly a 'seduction'. If she thinks it is, she's got some very funny ideas!

Er, yes. Why wouldn't they?
So why are you complaining that she's using details from her autobiography to publicise it? She's doing no different to anyone who's ever written an autobiography.

Erm. From actually reading the article, it looks to me to be more a case of the Mail talking about Jimmy Savile's attempted "seduction" of AH - she mentions the incident, yes (as anyone who'd had a "perv" experience probably would). Perhaps I'm being blind, but I don't see anywhere in the article anything where SHE refers to the incident as him trying to seduce her. The Mail writers do for the headline, yes. The more significant story from her autobiography is actually about a more serious incident she had with a comedian. Someone else. Not Jimmy Savile.

Sorry, I cannot stand Amanda Holden (multitude of reasons - no doubt she speaks very highly of me ), but I think she's being slagged off wrongly on this one.

The reason she is being slagged is because she's using the Savile incident to sell her book and because she wonders why nothing was done about him.

The other incident is more serious and she may have allowed a sexual predator to roam freely. Maybe the public should contact Operation Yewtree on her behalf so she has the facility to name the well known comedian to the police, so they can investigate?
