The reason she is being slagged is because she's using the Savile incident to sell her book
And that's wrong because...?

I know. Since when has it been wrong to exploit child abuse to plug a book.

I don't know the rules anymore. Next thing I won't be able to enter my coqs in to fights anymore.

I tweeted her to say much the same as I have said in this thread.

She told me to read the book. Any excuse.

Mentioning that Saville once made a lewd comment to her is exploiting child abuse? I think you need to calm down a bit.

Belittling duly noted.

What on earth makes you think i'm not calm?

Because, she says she doesn't understand why he was not apprehended before he died. The answer is in her own writings regarding dining out for years on the Savile story and her account of the sexual assault by a well known comedian.

It has been said celebs get away with crimes as sex offences because those assaulted believe they won't be believed, in 2001/2002 she was a celeb in a strong position to report the comedian, she was in an even stronger position when all the who hah about Savile began. But she instead she saves it for a book, has it not crossed her mind the well known comedian may still be at it and his victims may not have been so lucky.

Her priority seems to be to exploit that incident for financial gain rather than apprehend a sex offender.

Can't stand the woman.

If she really wanted to raise awareness of her (and many others) bad experiences with Savile, why not come out with it earlier when this was all breaking?

Oh, yes, that's right, because she was waiting to put it in a book.

$$$$$$$$$$

Zero integrity

It wouldn't have made any difference if she had told.
Yeah it would
Or perhaps people would just have thought it was the other way round as she was into oldies

She told her Jimmy Savile story on the Alan Carr show, too me she look rehearsed. Before I accepted what she said but now for some reason, maybe it was her throwing in her boyfriend was there, I've begun to have doubts.

Nothing was asked or said about the alleged sexual assault she suffered at the hands of a famous comedian. Which to me was an extremely serious omission, due to the difficulty victims of sex abuse suffer for years and years the memory but unable to inform the police.

Totally agree and was sort of told in a 'witty anecdote' kind of way too

I don't think that's totally fair. She made it clear that for years she told the anecdote without any sinister connotations, but that now, obviously, it's become rather more ominous. She wasn't making light of his behaviour, she was just pointing out that for many years she didn't appreciate the overall significance of what he did to her.

Oh shut up Amanda, you silly woman. ANYTHING to promote your book. I find it very distasteful to discuss sexual abuse to sell a book. She also said that a well-known personalitiy sexually abused her yet she did not go to the Police, do anything about it but is willing to discuss it in her book. Disgraceful. Take about desperate for Attention!!!

I'm sorry from what I saw she took no account of what has been made public over the past 2 years, she, Carr and the audience laughed about what she was saying. If it was insignificant, why was it in the book other than to jump on a bandwagon.

Add the serious sexual assault that is also in the book, the way she is presenting the Savile incident does not look good. In 2001/2002 she wasn't a junior who could be fobbed off or risk losing her job, she was and is a high profile person extremely well paid individual.

She's in a very strong place by her actions to encourage those sexually abused by a celeb to come forward, she could demonstrate celebs will not be allowed to use their position to silence and intimidate those they've sexually abused.

Holden is just a attention seeker!

Im honestly sick of these edits. Either show the show in full or just dont show it at all. The allegations wernt proven in court and to be fair shouldnt it be up to the viewer if he wants to watch it.

It seems to come back to this we dont want you watching it because we tell you what to watch because we are in charge.

Its bad enough when idiots are uploading videos on the net and are now doing warnings like saying warning contains rolf.

More seriously didn't she also claim in her book a well know person sexually assaulted her when she was married to Les Dennis? So she could be allowing a predatory sex offender get away with crimes. I noticed the tone of her interviews changed from laughing about the Savile incident and seeing pound signs, to the position of being deeply earnest thus pushing the more serious incident into the background.

She's in an extremely powerful position to prosecute the case or at least report it to the police.
