Has Apple on purpose...
Made there phones soo quite they you can't hear them ring? my Nokia N95 is louder than this and previous phones louder. You cannot hear the damn thing ring half the time even on the loudest tones.

Being quiet is certainly something I cannot say I have a problem with any of the iPhones I've used.
All my tones I use are pretty loud, infact I have to turn the volume down slightly on my iPhone 5 as I find it's too loud sometimes. |

Seems to me companies are putting volume limits or less power speakers in the make the volume quieter.

They certainly have done this for headphone output.Try listening to the latest Iphone with earphones then the same with Htc one for example.The androids are much louder.
And same with the ring tones as above, I've made my own and are easily loud enough |
