Cheese sauce
I like to make my own, but always make too much. Can it be reheated for the second day?

Yes, just refridgerate the leftovers in a pyrex jug / bowl and cover with clingfilm. Then you can reheat it in the microwave for another meal. I would make a vegetable cheesy bake or have it on some cauliflower with crispy bacon bits scattered on top !

What I do with left-over cheese sauce is put it in a covered container in the fridge. The next day it is really thick and I spread it on buttered toast, put a slice of pineapple on top and grill it. Ambrosia!

Does it have to be Pyrex or would some other unbranded / generic heatproof receptacle suffice?

It is indeed. I'll go out my way next time to make too much.
