Fightstar
What does everyone think of Charlie from Busteds new group 'Fightstar'?
I heard them on The Friday Night Project and they were okay, but probably won't live up to the success of Busted. |

there music sounds 5 million times better than busted's, it has a lot more energy to it, instead of the repetitiveness of most of busteds songs.

Just saw the video on CD:UK. I was waiting for the sun to start shining behind them, and Gary Barlow show up and start singing "All I do each night is pray"
It's funny how out of all the Busted videos and this, this is the only one - that I can recall anyway - where they've really made use of whatever sex appeal Charlie has. Credibility eh? |

If Busted had never existed, and Charlie was in Fightstar from the start, then i think Figthstar could have the potential to be successful. Charlie's previous success (Not really sucess IMO) is holding them back. |

I think you will find it was success - even if you didn't like it. They sold a lot of records so it was success in a material sense.

If was a wolf dressed in sheeps clothing. Its like if Cliff Richard suddenly made a rap record - Stick to what you know Charlie - fake robot boybands.

I don't think this will chart, and here's why:
* Aiming at too much of a niche audience * The niche audience won't even buy it because they will lose credibility with other members of said niche audience for listening to former kiddy band boy * The title of the song is too difficult to remember, or pronounce, even for aforementioned niche audience. |

I agree with Multisandia...I'd rather go with this than Busted but there are other emo rock bands out there doing a far better job. Charlie has lost his pre teen audience and will have a job to find credibility in this market place ...and I agree...how do you you pronounce that song title?!!

I saw the video on CDUK and was gearing myself up for how many jokes a could crack at it, but then the openning riff totally blew me away and i was like "wow, maybe Charlie can do this?!" then the riff stopped and it went into soppy emo music and i then like "nahhh" the openning riff was totally random, and it was such an abrupt stop froma really heavy riff to really soft emo music, it was stupid! Like with most new bands, it had over the top emo drumming in the background that got annoying, and the weedy second guitarist seemed to get on my nerves too! The lyrics didnt exactly pick the song up either, "Im not in you house, but im not in your head either" , ignoring the fact that this band was formed with Charlie from busted in it, this band still pretty much sucks, but to be fair is a tad better than I was expecting.

it wont be number one, Charlie has lost his teenie bopping fans because he split up busted, and majority of all rock fans hate him anyway, and any tenie bopping rock fan all hate Pop music, and thereofre hate Charlie and wont even give his music a chance. I would eat my hat if it was number 1!

It won't even get in the top 40, due to the fact it is chart ineligible.

I saw the video for the first time today. It's OK but I'm still not convinced, I'll wait for the next single before I pass judgement.
As for the video, kids, it's not a good idea to use electrical equipment while standing in a puddle.

Very average - I remember working at a local paper a few years back and getting loads of demo tapes. Approximately 95 per cent of them sounded just like this.

I guess anyone can pick the bones out of anything if they try. Personally I think Palahnuik's Laughter (sp?) is a good track and the video is excellent considering they only had a limited budget for it. I wanna get my hands on the EP to hear more but its hard to track down at the mo. Fair play to Charlie for doing what he wants rather than what he's told to. I bet the other three in the band aren't complaining about the extra publicity attracted by Simpson's raised profile thanks to his previous job.

It's not eligible to chart-the chart sales are from a limited edition vinyl i think.
