Hummax Foxsat HDR
Ive bought one of these boxes and generally its fine, but just one question if anyone has had experiance with these devices. When recording a programme ive noticed that i cant switch to certain channels, for example if i record More 4 or BBC 2 i cant change to watch ITV or CH 5, it will allow me to change to some selected channels but not apparently the main ones, if the TV is turned off and 2 programmes set to record simultaneously no problem at all. The guide says this might happen due to broadcasters settings, is it something you just have to live with? Now i tend to watch one channel then catch up on the other plus channel, thanks for any advice.

I take it you have two cables from your lnb. If so the two cables must be on the outer sockets with nothing on the middle one. If this is incorrect, reconnect correctly and do a factory reset. Watch for a two cables found message during the reset. If you only have one cable you must link the tuner 1 out terminal to tuner 2 in. This will give you twin tuner recording but will have some limits on what channels you can record with the second tuner. Note if you setup the box with only one cable and then added the second you need to do the reset for the box to identify the second cable. |

Follow these instructions starting at step 5 to see the current setting. The connection type should show as "Two Cable(Same)" If not you can change it there. |

A common mistake is to connect one of the cables to the output. The cables connect to the two outer connections the centre is left with no commection.

Yep i checked that and its connected right as an installer originally set it up, i started to have probs with certain channels so not really knowing about this stuff just did a factory reset, that was a problem as it wouldnt recognise my postcode, i gave the installer a ring and he came when i was at work and reset the dish, it then recognised the postcode and i did an auto scan, since then ive had the prob with recording and the set only finding one cable.

I think you need the installer back it sounds like there is problem with the lnb or the cable from the lnb.
