Sunday Racing - the Winter Comp 2013/14
After the excitement of the Summer Comp going to the last day it's time to turn our attention to the jumps and the winter competition.
The comp will start this coming Sunday - we have two good jumps meetings at Aintree and Wincanton. I'll check how the field sizes hold up before picking a race on Friday The comp will run until April and I'll pick a date nearer the time when the fixtures are out - probably the second week of April when the Irish Guineas trials offer a useful start to the Flat comp Rules Races will be chosen on Sundays from the UK and Ireland Generally it will be the best race of the day subject to a reasonable field size. Scoring format: 1st place - 10 2nd place in races of 5 runners or more - 5 3rd place in races of 8 runners or more - 2 4th place in handicaps of 16 runners or more - 1 If tied on points then 'the most winners' will decide table positions. If one or more are tied on points and 'most winners' at the end of the competition I'll have a tie-break race Non Runners and Missed Weeks I've decided to do away with the penalties for missing races. Unlike the Saturday comp there's no advantage to be gained by not posting a selection. I'm also not going to substitute for non runners automatically. A non runner will just count as a missed week unless the poster posts a replacement selection before the 'off' time. Reserves Posters who post their selections early might like to post reserves. Any reserves will be taken in order in the event of several non runners New players welcome !..........

Does this mean that if a high value race, say grade 1, only has a field of 5 or 6 you won't use it bud ? |

I think I'm going to give this one a miss mate as I find it hard to get on here at weekends and end up with too many non-runners.
