Adam Barlow quickly axed!
I've read that Sam Robertson failed to impress the execs and Adam is not coming back to Corrie. I believe Adam is back in school now. Anyways, Sarah has Scooter now.

Well two axeings in the one week, at least though Corrie know when its not working, unlike Enders who held onto Spencer til the chap had a nervous breakdown and THEN fired him lol and the Ferreiras, but the Ferreiras is due to the lousy writing.
Adam Barlow and Warren Baldwin, two of the worst young actors to grace Corrie ever, and any other soap for that matter. maybe on a par with Chris Parker and Scarlett Johnson, although I thought Scarlet improved a lot toward the end of her stint on Enders. |

Comes from Corrie.net from someone close to the show
****UPDATE - CAST AXINGS**** Updating my previous post regarding axings of younger cast members, it has just been confirmed that Craig Harris (played by Richard Fleeshman) has been axed. This means that the entire Harris family will be gone by April. As well as that, it looks likely that Tyrone will be staying (damn!), as well as Violet, Kelly, Jamie, and the rest. However, the future isnt so certain for Sam Robertson, who plays the "new and improved" Adam Barlow, who has reportedly failed to impress - the character has just been sent back to boarding school (again!) and there is no sign of a future return - shows what you get when you pick a clothing model for the part as opposed to an actor. |

Absoloutely, I wish they'd axe Tyrone, the sight of him drooling all over Maria is sickening and so annoying, I wish they'd change the record.

Adam hasn't even been given a chance. I didn't think there was anything wrong with him from those few scenes!
By the way I like Scarlet Johnson...she was just a victim of the accent thing imo. If you could get past that I thought her acting was alright, certainly better than Spencer, Martin and every other current teen in EE bar Sonia. |

Spoiler
But Tyrone - enough, spare us! Maria has certainly moved on from him! It's a bit sad watching him unable to get over it. I think we all know people who have these teenage romances etc and they are hard to get over sometimes but really you have to! |

Then Vicki is desperate to meet Dennis which means Den has 3 kids all connected to him which without Den being there meant there was nothing holding them together so they were left arguing a lot but it wasn't very interesting. Then Den comes back and tells Vicki where to find him. Vicki, who he hasn't clapped eyes on since she was a baby, but he trusts her anyway despite the fact Jack Dalton was after him etc. And then she was walking round talking about "The Watts" and "The Mitchells" and who's better than who despite only being there a matter of months. I gave up on EE around then so what she did on her last year I don't know exactly but I don't think she got any better. The actress was just given a terribly written character. No wonder she left of her own accord. |

But the simple problem is, they were a couple 4 years ago when Maria was about 17. She worked in the kennels and she was, as someone described her, a female version of Tyrone. Not very bright (which she still isn't!) and what you'd call 'mousey and dowdy' BUT ..... about 3 years ago they 'sexed' Maria up. Took her out of the kennels job, put her in short skirts and generally turned her into a more tarty character - and gave her various blokes to sleep with - including her friend's boyfriend who she had a one night stand with and got pregnant by, so had an abortion. The old 'mousey and dowdy' Maria would never have done anything like that! Her character is just completely different now but Tyrone hasn't changed. But it happens. Teen romances ..... people grow out of them. Maria has grown out of Tyrone but Tyrone thinks it's like it was 4 years ago, and for some reasons the writers have brought them back together again, seemingly forgetting what they had done to Maria in the past few years. So I find it irritating and I could just slap Tyrone! He really fits someone like Fizz, not a budding Liz MacDonald like Maria is now! Must be a shortage of ideas of what to do with one of the village idiots - the other one, Kirk, being perfectly settled with Fizz, which makes my point cos Kirk and Tyrone are very alike! |

can't believe they're getting rid of craig! or adam barlow! i would say corrie were making a big mistake but they've axed decent characters before and they've always replaced them with ones that are just as good if not better than before. but... it's still a shame.

Makes you wonder about the casting people on soaps...if anyone else go things wrong so often, they'd be gone!

I think tyrone should fall of a scaffolding, bang his head, see a vision of god, and want to become a priest. this will give him a stroryline, will allow the show to deal with religious issues, and can make for some great comedy!

I agree that Maria and Tyrone should have moved on long ago. IMO, they're keeping Tyrone because of the Vera and Jack connection as a substitute son etc. They had a chance to pair off Tyrone with the allotment woman ages ago but they had to mess it up. I thought they actually suited each other.
I wonder if a new actor will play Adam sometime in the future or has the character gone for good? |

I think the character's only been in for a couple of short stays since 2000, the last time nearly 2 years ago. Generally he seems to be the same as the other Scotland based Barlow, Ken's young son Daniel, who exists but hasn't been seen for years. Maybe Adam won't come back again until Mike is written out in a year or so or whenever it is Johnny is retiring from the role, to see what he's got in the will!
