I am sorry if this has been discussed but can't find any topic on this.

Just wondering anyone else having this problem, what it is, is that everytime I record a show like for example: Coronation Street or Hollyoaks and when it breaks of for adverts I fast forward it but when its about to come back on and I press play, it pauses and to get it to play again I have to come out and click play again in youview recordings.

Anyone else having this problem or is it just me?

I had youview from talktalk since June and its been doing this all the time and it's annoying, are talktalk aware of this issue?

Wish talktalk would sort this issue out if their are aware of the software problem.

You can get round this problem by using the skip buttons at the bottom of the remote to get past the adverts.

Each press of the skip forward button advances one minute and if you over-shoot, the skip back button goes back fifteen seconds.

And yes, fast-forwarding (sometimes) has the same effect on both of my Huawei boxes.

Great, thanks for that. I hadn't worked out what those buttons at the bottom were actually doing. I assumed they were jumping scenes, but appeared to go forward and backward at random.

I was having exactly the same problem, having to quit MyView entirely, then going back in and clicking on Resume. Highly frustrating and annoying.

My TalkTalk YouView box shows the same problem when fast-forwarding and then playing - it often seizes up requiring a stop and resume procedure. Irritating but useful to know it's not just my box.
I didn't know the buttons referred to caused those timed jumps forward and backward, rather like the Humax box does but there the times can be user set, so thanks for that. I do find the TalkTalk YouView box rather slow to respond to those buttons but now I'm aware of that I just have to give it time. We're becoming increasingly servants of our equipment!

I've not got a box yet but I did see this mentioned in the TalkTalk updates list. It mentions that in the 25th July 2013 - 12.29.05 build that one of the fixes is "A number of fixes including Mono Audio being recorded and playback freezing when using fast forward and rewind."

What versions of the firmware are you running?

The new version of the Huawei firmware is currently being rolled out by TalkTalk. As with most of the YouView updates, this will be available to boxes on a schedule over about 2 weeks and will not be complete, as the links states, until 11 November.

The July update should be installed on all boxes although I am a bit cautious that TT use the phrase "will be sent automatically to all customers". That suggests the update will be "pushed" from TT's own servers rather than "pulled" as part of the box's overnight housekeeping. If so, it could cause issues for those with Huawei boxes acquired "secondhand".

I have a second-hand box. There were no issues with the update on either the one supplied by TalkTalk or the one I got from ebay.
