Halogen Ovens
I paid something like £50 for mine from Ideal world.
So far I think its been a good purchase. I often use the microwave and the halogen in combination For eg heating up a chees and onion pie. 60 secs in the microwave then say 5 mins in the halogen oven The microwave heats the pie all the way thru then the halogen browns the pastry and gives that oven baked effect on the pie . Ideal World are now selling a more advanced halogen oven for about £90 that rotates and perhaps is worth getting over my static basic oven. On bid TV they are selling a halogen oven for about £ 30 .... but I dont like the look of it.......... on mine the lid lifts up and stays there while you take the food out on the cheaper Bid tv one the ( hot) lid comes off completely and you put it on a metal stand on your kitchen top. I dont like the idea of the lid ... with its heater.... coming off completely and taking up space on the kitchen work top. It may be a cheaper oven but go for the one where the lid lifts up and is part of the oven. |
