Google integrates its services very well with Android. As for "not as polished", I'm surprised you are saying this given you allegedly own a Nexus 4. That point may have stood 2/3 years ago, but not now, especially with stock Android and Project Butter.
As for "missing features", get back to me when you have an equivalent to Astro File Manager on iOS, and when you get as many customisation options as there are on Android. All the "new" features Apple added in iOS7, Android has already been doing.

Music and file entertainment is miles ahead on iTunes compared to the Google Play offering. At least you can sync across devices and your PC easy. Google music doesn't even allow a physical download to the phone properly. Other options hide the file in a obscure location- very user friendly!
Couldnt even play Ultra Violet on my Nexus becuase the feature or app isnt available !! - no problem on iTunes! on my ipad - the whole process was simple compared to the "work it out yourself" on Android.
Missing features - you dont need file management if itunes and cloud set up right. Also there is a lack of integrated messaging on Android. Hangouts has no way to send videos to each other for example. .. why? Messaging/Facetime is better in that regard. its easy.
Not as polished - things like the Data Toggle button for example still hasnt been fixed! Yes its smooth on Nexus 4 but a lot of other devices have judder fests. Had it on HTC One and Samsung Galaxy.
I have had more stalls and crashed applications on my Nexus compared to my iPad.
Android isnt better- its different. The Apple system is great for most people becuase as they say it "just works". I'm sorry but that coupled with excellent design and build quality across the products is why they are so popular. But you pay a premium and get what your given.
Cheapness and choice of what to do and buy is why Android is so popular.
